Twenty years in marketing gave me creativity, challenges, and the satisfaction of helping clients grow. But after two decades, something was missing.

I no longer felt fulfilled.

I’ve been happily married for 22 years. 
I’m the father of six incredible kids. 
And I believe fatherhood is the most important role a man will ever have.

But I also know the reality for many fathers…

With the help of my own mentors, coaches, and a lot of hard personal work, I learned how to rebuild presence, gratitude, and connection at home.

Nothing in life is stagnant. I didn't do anything special here. Lots of people have done these things. Holiday breaks do something that almost no one else can pull off.
Everybody tries to and fails.

Holiday breaks bring families together. You know how it goes — some cousins are on the west coast, others overseas, and a few somewhere in between.

Life gets busy, responsibilities pile up and FaceTime only gets you so far. But somehow, the holidays step in and get the job done.

Everyone ends up around the same table, catching up on all the important and not-so-important things.

Here I am with Katie, my niece, who used to work with us at Evolve. She did incredible work here — truly foundational stuff — and now she’s out there chasing new goals and crushing it. I used to see her every week in team meetings, but nothing beats an in-person hug.

Cheers to family, to good work, and to being together again.

Yes, every time it snows, I’ll make a snowman. No exception.
There’s a good reason for that.

All year I wait for it. I hope the snow comes thick enough that the kids can run out, start rolling the first pieces together, and we can spend the morning outside, cheeks red, laughing at how crooked our snowman turns out. Then I come in, make coffee, and look out at the white landscape like I’ve been waiting for it all along.

I think part of why I love it so much is that something I wished for finally comes. And it comes by itself. There’s nothing I can do but wait for it. (Hamilton pun intended.)

Maybe that’s what makes it feel so special — the reminder that some good things don’t need to be chased or forced. They just show up when it’s their time.
