Team Management and Department Management: Supervised team of 5 delivering support to county directors, school counselors and career center specialists, serving as subject matter expert on graduation requirements, industry credentials, and accreditation programs. 

Training, Professional Development, and Conference Organization: Delivered training and professional development opportunities to county student services directors, leading team to plan and execute annual conference.

Strategic Communications and Writing: Drafted and disseminated county-wide communications, including weekly updates to all student services program staff. Communicated and interpreted program policies and procedures. 

Building Coalitions and Teamwork: Represented organization at county planning meetings, building coalitions and support for counseling programs, summer school planning, and course planning.

MY STORY:

As a mentor, coach, & and servant leader, I have served over 50,000 families and led 100+ direct reports in the span of my 20-year career as an education leader. I have coached and mentored 1000s of stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, counselors, psychologists, social workers, ed leaders, and teams) to expand their capabilities, achieve progressively challenging goals, and overcome obstacles. I have coordinated and led over 200 conferences, including being a keynote speaker.

​After experiencing chronic stress and habitual burnout, I resigned during the pandemic, in December 2020, so I could be a better mom to my kids and a better human to myself. I used restorative practices and the tools and techniques I have learned to patch and fill my own bucket, find harmony and joy again, and be the best mom possible. As a life-long learner, I am dedicated to gaining and sharing knowledge.

- Screened potential fMRI participants for compatibility and usage of Instagram/marijuana.

- Assisted in fMRI operation after completing mandated safety training.
- Scripted, filmed, and edited videos for mobile-administered cognitive behavioral therapy.
- Entered data using REDCap, OneDrive, and Google Drive platforms.

Project: Intensive Cognitive Training in Schizophrenia (SCZ) Patients Enhance their working memory (PI: Jaime Pineda, PhD, Professor)

- Collaborated with and reported to psychiatrist the progress of their patient’s adaptation, the data and results.
- Examined (EEG) neurofeedback on patients and let them play visual memory tests on Matlab, and then collected data for the study.

Project: Huntington’s Disease in mouse models and examined the neuroprotective effects of TRiC Chaperonin

✨Key Achievements:

- Analyzed neuro-imagining data to discover if TRiC Chaperonin (CCT) form neuroprotective in mouse models.
- Examined Huntington’s Disease by dissecting mouse models and the neuroprotective effects of CCT.
- Presented 3+ poster presentations, including national scientific conferences to 20-200+ audiences.
- Worked with all functions and levels of management ensuring effective ongoing communications across teams and stakeholders to ensure project scope is defined and controlled.

Research Assistant, Department of Neurosciences at School of Medicine

Seattle Central College

An archival-focused English Composition I course, centered around Seattle history, and collaborating with Seattle Public Library archivists and community researchers. Its capstone research projects give students the chance to have their research archived in the SPL special Collections. This course focused on academic integrity, information literacy, and academic culture, with a research project on an aspect of plagiarism in academic culture. 

✨Key Achievements:

- Facilitated group discussion sections for 25+ undergraduate students each academic quarter and proctored exams, and graded papers.
- Held office hours to answer students’ questions and assisted with class research projects.
- Led successful discussions, ensured all students felt comfortable participating, and consistently received positive feedback from students and professors.
- Worked with 25+ students each quarter on their research papers, with a passing rate of 90% or higher
