Staff Development and Performance Management: Lobbied county to secure one-on-one support for underperforming staff, advancing professional development goals and driving improved performance. Regularly nominated staff for county-level awards, boosting morale. 

Data Driven Instruction and Student Success: Led team to implement data-driven practices to bolster student achievement, resulting in 3 national awards.

Instructional Design and Training: Coached teachers to utilize instructional design methodology, delivered staff development and training to various audiences.

Director of Counseling/Student Services - Management of Programs and Operations

Team Management and Department Management: Supervised team of 5 delivering support to county directors, school counselors and career center specialists, serving as subject matter expert on graduation requirements, industry credentials, and accreditation programs. 

Training, Professional Development, and Conference Organization: Delivered training and professional development opportunities to county student services directors, leading team to plan and execute annual conference.

Strategic Communications and Writing: Drafted and disseminated county-wide communications, including weekly updates to all student services program staff. Communicated and interpreted program policies and procedures. 

Building Coalitions and Teamwork: Represented organization at county planning meetings, building coalitions and support for counseling programs, summer school planning, and course planning. 

Strategic Partnerships: Served as county representative with the Virginia Department of Education, supporting partnerships with local colleges, such as George Mason University and Northern Virginia Community College.

MY STORY:

As a mentor, coach, & and servant leader, I have served over 50,000 families and led 100+ direct reports in the span of my 20-year career as an education leader. I have coached and mentored 1000s of stakeholders (students, parents, teachers, counselors, psychologists, social workers, ed leaders, and teams) to expand their capabilities, achieve progressively challenging goals, and overcome obstacles. I have coordinated and led over 200 conferences, including being a keynote speaker.

​After experiencing chronic stress and habitual burnout, I resigned during the pandemic, in December 2020, so I could be a better mom to my kids and a better human to myself. I used restorative practices and the tools and techniques I have learned to patch and fill my own bucket, find harmony and joy again, and be the best mom possible. As a life-long learner, I am dedicated to gaining and sharing knowledge.
