The war in the middle east has resulted in

And when I failed despite that,
I always learnt and got insights that 

I would have never gotten, had I not tried, 
helping me to achieve them even more meaningfully!

I have done this mistake 3 times in my career.

Huge efforts, but feels like going downhill 
instead of going up in your career?

Reminds me of the story of 
4 equally abled men, 
each pushing a stand still car 
in 4 different directions.

Do you really think the car would move anywhere?

One my clients had made 
almost 400 job applications!

And he was shortlisted for just 3,
interviewed for 2 of them,
where he got rejected for both
(not even 1% success rate!).

And he was breaking his head over 
what went wrong in those 2 interviews!

When we started working together,
we did a simple change.

We put his focus on 

A) Making selective targeted applications
B) Enhancing his success rate of getting shortlisted

He asked, what about the interviews?
I said, we will bother about that later.

Within a month, his ratio of getting shortlisted
jumped from 0.75% to 28%!

Then we worked on his interviews.
And he secured multiple offers!

One of my friends(also my ex-colleague) used to 
gather so much information before 

saying Yes or No to any work assignment,

by the time he felt 'satisfied' with all 
the information & analysis, 
the assignment would go to someone else.

He would never say Yes, until he had 
full visibility of all the parts. 

The last time I checked with him,
he was doing more or less the same 
work for the last 6+ years 
(And absolutely frustrated with that).

This is one of the most common 
problems with smart, intelligent professionals.

Especially the mid-career ones.

They lack conviction & confidence 
in themselves. 

They don't realise over analysis,
'knowledge gaining obsession' 
stops them from taking Action,
it kills their decision making spirit.

In contrast, people who 

-quickly weigh in the Pros & Cons, 
-gauge whether doing the work 
 would further their career
-And aligns with their values 
-who go ahead despite knowing they 
 still have plenty to figure out 

advance their career & life faster & stronger.

Their happiness quotient is higher too.

I was working with a Fintech company then.

Me - 'So?'
She - 'What so? Let's go quick, get it before it's over.'

I smiled - 'You go ahead. I'll skip.'
She -'Why? You don't want it?'

Me - 'If they are left with something in the end, 
I might take it. If not, all good.'

She - 'Can you atleast come with me,

2012. 
I led a complex mission critical 
project with a software company.

A super success.
All bosses appreciating me.

My colleagues working on 
other less imp projects &  
my subordinates receive awards.

No award for me.
Not insecurity but I ask 
my super boss, 

'I am happy for my colleagues. 
Why no award for me when you know  
my work was excellent & 
I delivered beyond expectations?'

He acknowledges and says, 
'I know Abhi. It wasn't fair to you. 
Next one would be yours'.

So I become the last one 
in my whole team to receive an award. 

But I never wanted to be in the race.
Never wanted to stand first, come first.

For several years, 
I came in 2nd, 3rd in various competitions.
And it didn't bother me one bit.

Coming 1st was never important for me.
Competition was never imp to me.

Because I was never insecure.
Someone doing better than me never disturbed me.

Because I knew what I knew. 
I knew how I stood out, how I was different.
I knew my value. I knew my uniqueness.

I knew I was special.
I knew there would be people 
who would resonate with my thinking.
My values, my strengths, my beliefs.

So I was never worried.

In my business too, 
Someone doing better than me 
doesn't trouble me.

I know what I deliver.
I know how committed I am 
for the people I work with.
They know it. 
They see it.

So much so that, some of my clients 
invested upfront for a professional engagement
without asking me details 
about my program, my solution.

That's what happens when you 
understand there is enough for everyone.
When you embrace your authenticity.
When you realise competition is for insecure minds.

When you learn these principles,
