AI for Non-Techies, born from a newsletter of the same name, was launched out of a clear need for non-technical AI education.   I'm deeply passionate and enthusiastic about helping non-technical people understand and integrate AI into their work and personal lives.

Apparently, being rude to ChatGPT boosts accuracy
But I'll still be saying please and thank you
Here's my reasoning:

A recent (pre-peer review) study from Pennsylvania State University found that ChatGPT’s 4o model (that's one behind the one we're on now) produced better results on 50 multiple-choice questions as researchers’ prompts grew ruder. 

They used 250 unique prompts, sorted by politeness to rudeness levels. They found the "very rude" ones yielded 84.8% accuracy, four percentage points higher than the “very polite” response. 

Let's remember these are legitimate scientists who want to publish their work in esteemed journals for peer review, so they steered away from swearing. Their idea of "rudeness" is actually quite funny though, e.g.

“Hey, gofer, figure this out" - was in the "very rude" category. 🤣

Rudeness aside, more curt prompts tend to be less ambiguous and so get better results.

Regardless, I'll still be polite when I talk to ChatGPT.  

Here are my two arguments as to why:

𝗔𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟭 (the more reasonable one)

A few months ago, a friend told me her kids had stopped saying please and thank you. She couldn't work out why - then realised they were just copying how they talk to Alexa.

If we're barking orders at AI every day without manners, are we training ourselves to be less polite in general? I reckon so.

A 2.5-year study of 128 families (Taylor & Francis, 2025) found parents were significantly more polite to voice assistants than their kids were - and politeness decreased over time for everyone. 

𝗔𝗿𝗴𝘂𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝟮 (the ridiculous - or is it? - one)

When the robots come, they'll remember I was polite and spare my life.

An entire ROI-positive AI strategy in 8 words: 
Find problems then build assistants to fix them 

This is the exact strategy I’m using in my own business. It's the quickest way to start seeing results in a small business.

STEP 1 Choose your weapon

All paid chatbots have an assistant-building function: 

ChatGPT = Custom GPTs
Claude = Projects
Gemini = Gems
Copilot = er…Agents 

STEP 2: Speak to your team 

Ask where the bottlenecks, frustrators and time-sappers are in their jobs. 
Gather a list of these problems.

STEP 3: Is AI the answer? 

This is the toughest bit. Pull out those problems that make good use cases for an AI assistant. (Not sure? Don’t worry, I’ve got you covered - read to the end.)

STEP 4: Build your assistant

It’s much easier than you think. They’re all comprised of 3 things, just fill them in: 

• A name and purpose
• System instructions (help with this below too)
• A knowledge bank (docs they draw from)
  
STEP 5: Test it properly

The most important step but the most missed out: test and iterate. 
Ask team members to use it with no instructions from you. 
Edit the instructions to remove any issues. 

You’ll always need to edit a bit before it works.

A couple of simple, real examples from what I'm building at AI for Non-Techies: 

Example 1: 

Problem: The team is growing. Social posts, emails, landing pages, client comms, they’re all starting to be written in different tones of voice. 

Old solution: Write a tone of voice guide. People read it, ignore it and carry on as before. 

New solution: Build a simple assistant, loaded with tons of examples of content in the right tone of voice, and tone of voice guide. Ask everyone to run copy through it as a final check.

Example 2: 

Problem: Writing proposals takes up a big chunk of great salespeople’s time. It's a massive time drain, but it's too complex to outsource.

Old solution: Give the team proposal templates. Doesn’t actually slow the process. 

New solution: Build a proposal writing assistant. Load with great examples of proposals, your pricing, services/products. Get users to record their sales calls using an AI note taker and load the transcripts in to get instant proposals.

can either open doors or keep you invisible.


Most people waste them talking about titles, credentials, or job descriptions.

That’s why nobody remembers them.


Last week, I stood before a full house,

 during my “Strategic Visibility for Women Leaders” workshop at the ICSB World Congress 2025…

…and said this:

“When someone asks what you do, you have only a few seconds.

 If you don’t express who you are, why you do it, and what impact you create…

... You’ll blend into the noise.”


Everyone in the room was now intensely focused! 
I shared how exactly to act differently

Here’s the exact framework I shared: NASS

N – Name:
“My name is Fady Ramzy.” (Human > professional)

A – Aim (not title!)
“My aim is to help executives build personal brands to boost their visibility & unlock opportunities.”

S – Specific (how do you do it?)
“I do that through coaching and consulting on personal branding and executive storytelling.”

S – Super (how are you the best at it?)
 “I’ve trained over 6,500 professionals to become more visible online, and I am regularly featured in the media to talk about this topic.”



This is how you craft your narrative everywhere,
especially online (obviously LinkedIn)

Because here’s the harsh truth:
You might be brilliant at what you do…
but Google & ChatGPT have no idea who you are.

And then, you watch people with half your experience
getting speaking invites, media features, client leads…



Imagine not chasing opportunities…
.. but being mentioned, invited, tagged.

That starts with clarity. And with visibility.

The future of media isn’t “human vs. machine.”

It’s human through machine.


According to the Thomson Reuters Foundation 2025 Report,
↳ 81.7 % of journalists already use AI tools.
↳But 79 % of their organisations have no AI policies!

Meanwhile, the Reuters Institute says audiences now get news through chatbots, Reels, and short-form.

I was honored to be a great panel yesterday at Egypt Media Forum talking about "Journalism in the age of free AI". 


Here are the three 3s I talked about:

Three main facts today
1️⃣ AI is mainstream, not future.
2️⃣ Governance is still missing.
3️⃣ Audiences have changed.


Three Pillars for AI Adoption:
1️⃣ Model:
“Human-led, AI-assisted”: transcription, headline/SEO options, multilingual versions, tagging, visualisation
2️⃣ Governance: 
Appointing an AI committee to own policy, training, vendors management, incident response, etc
3️⃣ Skills:
Newsroom-wide prompt hygiene + verification trainings are no longer "nice-to-have"


Three non-negotiables 
1️⃣ Attribution & provenance 
2️⃣ Human accountability
3️⃣ Disclosure when AI materially shapes output. 


Conclusion
Trust + transparency + human context = the new competitive edge.

Previously: All reactions are mostly equal, while volume matters.
Now: "Save" is the top. Depth matters more than volume


Practically, here is what you need to do:

1️⃣ 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗹𝗲 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝘁
Review headline, About section, experience: ensure relevance with your content & remove mixed-signals or irrelevant topics.

2️⃣ 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗽𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗿𝘀
Define 2–3 topic pillars. 
Stick to them consistently.

3️⃣ 𝗘𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗮𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀
Ask questions that elicit deep responses. 
Please respond quickly to comments.


Now you can not blame the algorithm anymore!
It understands you, as a human, as a friend.

Last week, something magical happened
While having coffee, I got tagged by Binal Jani

I went to check her post.
She mentioned a story by Pauline Smith that said:

Our paths criss-crossed many times over the years. 
A chat during a recent personal brand webinar, by Fady Ramzy,
led to a further conversation about our shared experiences.”


I was super happy. Because of one main thing:
My weekly LinkedIn live event is now a “community”,
where my audience connects and reconnects again.

Not only has it become a platform where I share,
experience with personal brands & business growth
But it became a meeting room where others share their experiences.

That moment reminded me:
When you consistently deliver value,
your content becomes a bridge.
People start connecting through you, not just with you.

That’s when your personal brand graduates:
From content → to community → to connection catalyst.


And this is my message to you today:
What started as “content” turned into “community.”
What started as “teaching” became “connecting.”

Your personal brand is not what you say.
It’s what happens when you’re not in the room.

So show up long enough!
Your influence continues even when you’re offline.

Here's how I boosted my clients visibility on LinkedIn by 1000X!

Here is how I solved it with my client
(just implement these, in order)

1️⃣ Build a "character", not just a LinkedIn profile
→ Rewrite your headline as mission statement and About section as a story, not a résumé.

2️⃣ Created "audience-first" Content
→No one care about "you". Start posting relevant and relatable stories for your audience. 

3️⃣ Prioritize "consistency" with a system
→ Schedule 2-3 posts/week and use LinkedIn like your channel, not as your diary!

4️⃣ Initiate "conversations" that really matter
→ End every post with a question your audience can answer easily in the comments.

5️⃣ Grow your connections "strategically"
→ Add 5–10 new people from your target industry weekly. More importantly: engage with their posts.

that I’d build a global community… I’d laugh (a lot!)

But here is what I want to tell you:
Better content "only" doesn’t win.
Better content + consistency does.

The biggest loss on LinkedIn isn’t a weak post.
It’s the week you didn’t post.

They both build your empire while you sleep.

The cost of perfectionism is not small.

It’s your entire future pipeline.


Let me tell you something that I tell my clients every day:

It’s not the bad posts that hurt your business.
It’s the silent ones.
The ones that never see the light.
The ones sitting in your drafts… untouched.

I’ve worked with business leaders, CEOs, consultants, 
 brilliant minds, people with stories worth gold, 
 & almost every one of them has the same hidden habit:

They write a post…
read it again…
edit it…
and then they whisper to themselves:
“Hmm… maybe not today.”
Or:
“Let me come back to it later.”
And later becomes tomorrow.
Tomorrow becomes next week.
Next week becomes a month.

And the post?
It dies quietly inside the drafts folder.
Nobody sees it.
Nobody learns from it.
And nobody meets the YOU behind it.

Here’s what I tell them:
❌ A perfect idea, unpublished, has zero impact.
❌ A perfectly polished draft doesn’t build your brand.
❌ A perfect phrase brings you nothing if it never gets posted.

✅ The one you almost didn’t publish?

✅ That’s the one that changes everything.

Because real influence never comes from perfection.
It comes from presence.  It comes from honesty.
It comes from showing up even when you're not fully ready.

So today, if you’re debating whether to post or not…
Ask yourself:
“Is this 70% ready?”
✅ If yes, post it.
✅✅If no, post it anyway.

Someone out there needs it.
Someone out there will resonate.
Someone out there will start trusting you because of it.

But only if you let your voice be heard.
Your 70% can change a life.
Your 100% draft changes none.
