It sounds counterintuitive. You’d assume the quietest clients — the ones who seem happiest, never questioning, never challenging — would be the most stable.

In reality, they’re often the first to leave.

Yet the ones who debate the angle, challenge our thinking, and push back on the strategy tend to stick around.

Tension can feel uncomfortable at first. 

No one enjoys having their thinking questioned. 

But more often than not, it’s a good sign.

It means they’re invested.

They’re not just outsourcing LinkedIn so they can forget about it; they’re actively extracting value from the relationship, asking questions, and pressure-testing ideas. They understand that if you don’t ask the question, you don’t get the answer.

Over time, that creates a shared context, shared standards, and shared accountability.
