Forging Youth Resilience

Crossfit has given me so much that it's time for me to give back. It can be hard to make friends as an adult & Crossfit is an easy way to do this. I moved to Denver in 2021 (knowing no one in Denver), joined a Crossfit gym right away and instantly made friends & felt like I belonged.

I got my L1 Certification in March & am now giving back by coaching a weekly Crossfit class for FYR athletes.

FYR Denver is a local chapter of a national nonprofit seeking to provide at-risk youth with fitness, nutrition, and mentorship. Launching May of 2015, serving youth in Denver who otherwise would not have the opportunity to participate in highly structured function fitness on a regular basis. Along the way, we engaged a community of like minded adults who volunteer and fundraise to support these student athletes.
