7 Questions Every Leadership Team Should Answer Before Their Next Offsite

Leadership resets rarely fail in the room. They fail in the planning.

Because planners think the agenda IS the outcome.

In 20+ years of facilitating executive teams, these seven questions consistently predict whether two days together will create real movement … if you’re not asking these, then yes - “an agenda” might be your only outcome

1️⃣ What’s the tension we keep circling but haven’t named?
Not the discussion topic, the underlying tension nobody's naming. Articulated in one sentence.

2️⃣ Who truly owns decisions?
If your team hesitates here, you have decision fog. Surface this within 24 hours.

3️⃣ What did we “decide” last quarter that quietly faded?
This reveals where accountability needs structure, not pressure.

4️⃣ Where do early leaders and newer leaders see things differently?
Not dysfunction - just two rhythms. Name it before it drains strategic conversation.

5️⃣ What are we all thinking but not saying in exec meetings?
