I used to charge $25 an hour.

Twenty.
Five.
Dollars.

For advice that was objectively valuable.

I didn’t know my worth back then.

I was operating from fear.
 
People booked me constantly.

Which, in hindsight, was a red flag.

Then I did the inner work.

I realized that high-level thinkers don’t trade time for money.
 
They trade energy.
 
So I raised my rates.

$25/hour → $1,250/hour.

A necessary pivot.

And sure, people stopped booking.

But that wasn’t rejection.

That was filtration.

The wrong people fell away.
 
The aligned people simply haven’t arrived yet.

And honestly?

I’d rather have:

- Zero clients
- Perfect positioning
- And a fully open calendar, making $0

Than be booked back-to-back meetings making $25/hr. 

Few understand this.

The dreaded ice breakers in corporate.

This fella took the fun fact sharing to the next level.

My sister just got an internship at a large consulting firm.

She told me the hourly rate they’re paying her.

Which one though? 

I’ve posted 184 times this week.

I was in Brickell last week.

I rented a Ford Expedition for the week.

I went to park the Ford Expedition at the hotel.

The guy at valet said it was too big to park.

He recommended I go park at the garage across the street.

I drove to the garage across the street.

The height clearance was 6'2 (I'm 6'2 btw).

If you've ever seen a Ford Expedition, you know it will not fit in a garage with a height clearance of 6'2.

So I left the parking garage.

I circled my hotel and found a public parking lot right under the highway and across the street from the hotel.

I parked the Expedition there.

As I'm sitting in the car getting my phone, wallet, and keys, a homeless dude walks up to the car.

I try to wave him off.

But he insists so I roll my window down. 

He says, "There's tons of glass on the ground. Two cars were broken into last night. Don't you see that?"

I didn't say anything. I saw the glass.

He said, "I wouldn't park here if I were you."

I thanked him for the heads up, but honestly I didn't want to have to find another spot.

So I pulled out a $20, handed it to him.

He then proceeded to tell me he sleeps over there in the corner of the parking lot and that he'd watch my car and "beat the f*ck out of anybody who tries to mess with it."

The dudes name was JJ.

I came out to the parking lot the next morning and my car was untouched.

So I paid a homeless dude $20 to watch my car overnight. Is that not the coolest form of delegation or what. 

Had to share that story and show some love to JJ.

You can spot a ChatGPT written LinkedIn post in three seconds. (Apart from em dashes, comparison tone, there are alot of other signals)

It sounds fine, but it does not feel like anyone is actually behind it.

There is a pattern to it now.

Clean hook, clear structure, safe insight, no sharp edges, no opinion that could make someone uncomfortable.

It sounds like someone understands the topic, not like someone has lived it.

And that is what people react to.

When AI is used without thinking, it creates content that looks smart but says nothing new.

It will avoid risk, depth & it wont pick a side.

Buyers may not know why the post feels a little off, they will just scroll past it because there is no reason given to them for the trust

The posts that bring inbound leads usually have something different.

There is a line in them that feels personal.

Which cannot be copied from a template.

Here is the thing…using AI does not remove the NEED to think.

It changes the WORK. 

You now have to think clearly enough to write a strong prompt.

Then you have to edit the output like your reputation depends on it.

Because it does.

If the content has no point of view, it quietly signals that the service behind it may not have one either…

Here is a simple test for you to identify this:

-Go to someone’s profile and read their last five posts slowly.

-Now ask a simple question.

If you gave the same prompt to ten other people in that industry, would you get almost the same posts back?

-If the answer is yes, there is no edge.

And that is the actual issue.
