I’m a simple man.

The real reason so many SaaS brands are boring on socials??

It’s not what you’d think.

We send a once monthly agency update to ~150 marketing leaders.

We share client wins, team wins, and highlight a few pieces of viral content we’ve made in the last 30 days.

The entire goal of the update is to nurture our warmest leads.

But the biggest ROI from the agency update has been something personal for me:

I added my grandparents to the email so they can get a peek into what I’m building.

Both of my grandfathers were legit business men.

One of them built and sold an insurance firm.

The other was a President for Xerox in the mid 2000s. 

My grandpa who worked at Xerox received our agency update on Friday, where I shared a little bit about our sales process.

He replied, mentioning how he is really into retirement and doesn’t think about work much, 

But he said the email reminded him of the Xerox professional selling approach. 

And he provided a full breakdown of their SPIN selling process.

Something about being able to share my early career with the wisdom of both of my sharp grandfathers is quite literally the coolest thing I think I’ve experienced.

Here’s something ground breaking:

If you want your brand to be witty on socials, the person making the content needs to be witty.

If you want your brand to be polished on socials, the person making the content needs to be polished.

If you want your brand to be unhinged on socials, the person making the content needs to be unhinged.

Luckily all of these are skills that can be learned.

But companies seem to overlook the importance of matching the talent they hire for social media with their goals of how they want to show up on socials.

Don’t expect the vet marketer you hired in 2018 who isn’t clever, to suddenly create clever content for your niche brand overnight because you decided you want to take a page our of Ryan Air’s book.

Like anything, it’s a skill that needs to be built.

Or you can skip the growing pains and hire outside help.

Want to know the MOST underrated sales tactic for 2026? 

You wouldn’t believe it.

Paid is the shorter term solution.

Organic is the longer term solution.

If you have a budget, throwing money on paid will get you more immediate results.

But over time, achieving those same results will become increasingly more expensive.

Whereas throwing money towards organic will easily take 90+ days to see results.

But over time, achieving those same results will become increasingly cheaper.

If you stop spending on paid, that leadflow will immediately shut off.

If you stop spending money investing in organic, the algorithm will still push ALL of your content 24/7. 

Both paid and organic have a role in your social strategy, confusing their roles is what gets you in trouble as a social media manager.

i legitimately cannot remember the last time i was on a meeting i didn't want to be on.

also, i legitimately cannot remember the last time i was able to passively be in a meeting.

you know, the classic camera off "nothing from my end, thanks" type contribution.

every single meeting has a purpose.

pretty sweet.

First thing I do there? Go right to the bathroom.

The train ride and oatmeal caught up to me.

I sit down in the middle of three stalls.

There’s a dude in the stall to the left.

At first I sat down locked in on my mission.

But after 10 minutes I began to take notice of the fellas to my right and left.

They were grinding.

Working hard on their mission.

Suddenly I felt an energy.

The guy in the stall to my right said something.

"Can I get some TP??"

It was no longer just about my mission.

I reach down, grab some extra TP for him.

Hand it under the stall.

My mindset changed, we're now a team. All grinding for a common end goal.

Just three brothers doing their duty in the dimly lit bathroom of the 5th floor Regus in Manhattan.

I didn’t get to shake their hands but I would’ve loved to.

As the Weekend Support Lead (Saturday - Monday) at Karat Financial, a Y Combinator (YC) backed fintech innovator, I played a critical role in empowering a burgeoning community of over 4,000 digital creators with tailored financial solutions, including cash advance and credit services.

Our user base includes top creators from Youtube, Instagram, Tiktok, and Twitch. I was the primary point of contact via phone, SMS, email, and live chat support using Zendesk and Intercom. Specifically I focused on CSAT, customer success, credit and loan operations management, cross-functional collaboration, and general customer support.

As one of the early team members (employee number 3) at Heygo, a pioneering live streaming social media platform, I played a key role in helping scale the company from pre-seed to a $20 million Series A.

At the intersection of tech, travel, and the creator economy, I helped build out and nurture our micro-creator ecosystem.

This was a hybrid role where I worked to acquire and then manage new creators. Specifically, my focus was creator acquisition, creator management and development, creator ecosystem development, strategic partnerships, and growth hacking.

I managed a book of creators, built the company CRM complete with data dashboards and marketing automations, developed inbound and outbound sales strategies, and leveraged data to drive the company to product market fit.

As a Senior Account Executive, I specialized in B2B sales, strategically targeting IT departments of SMEs to enterprise-level companies. My role was instrumental in selling Revivn's core service, contributing significantly to the company's growth and market penetration. 

This was a quota carrying role where I was responsible for upsells & renewals, building out and improving the sales process, closing new business, and market analysis.

Revivn is a venture backed social enterprise focused on the repurposing of used technology for social good and empowerment. 

I partnered (sales) with the world's leading organizations like Twitter, Airbnb, and Facebook to help give their outdated electronics another life.

I was brought on as employee number 10 at Revivn which is a Benefit Corporation (B Corp) in the IT asset disposition space (ITAD or electronic recycling).

As the business operations lead, I was charged with scaling operations and customer success both domestically and internationally. This hybrid role involved an even blend of customer success, account management, business development, and operations/logistics.

Specifically, I focused on:

ZealMe was a mobile platform leveraging Artificial intelligence (AI) to facilitate consumer to consumer (C2C) collaboration. I was employee number two at this early-stage startup, which eventually grew to five.

I partnered with the founding team to connect with angel investors to raise a pre-seed round, growth hacked the platform's first 10K signups, and led our outbound B2B strategic partnerships program.

This role touched all aspects of the business from business development, to social media, to marketing, to reasearch, to growth hacking. I pitched angel investors and VCs, growth hacked new users, built strategic partnerships, evangelized our product, and leveraged data and user feedback to guide our product roadmap.
