The US government just sparked war on Anthropic, and on AI safety as a whole. This is the MOST important conversation our generation will have on AI.

The entire world is watching.

The US government just directed every federal agency to immediately cease use of all Anthropic's products. Full exile. 

"We don't need it, we don't want it, and will not do business with them again."

But here's the bigger story.

Anthropic is a patriotic company. They've been serving the armed forces for years. But they have a BACKBONE - they will not use their intelligence for domestic surveillance on US citizens, and they will not create autonomous murder machines.

These are fundamental boundaries of a pro-human future.
And because of that backbone, they're getting exiled.

Within hours, OpenAI swooped in and accepted. No questions asked.

This isn't right. 

AI is moving faster than ever, and we need ethics-driven people at the table. 

I'm urging every single person in my audience to stand up and be counted. 
Having a platform means nothing if you're not willing to use it.

I'm going to say something unconventional.

As a man in tech, you walk into an AI event that's 80% men.
You don't think twice. I didn't either.

My first AI meetup - looked around the room, barely any women, didn't even register. That's the problem.

22% of AI talent are women, and only 12% of AI researchers globally.

Men navigate this industry effortlessly. We don't even notice the rooms we're in.

Here's what we don't say out loud: men control the rooms.

We curated them this way. The invite lists, the speaker lineups, the default networks - that was us. And if we built it, we can fix it.

The responsibility sits with us, it's on our shoulders. 

So here's an idea every event organizer should try: 
A strict 1:1 ratio. Women to men. No exceptions.

→ Want to add people? Invite women first. 
→ Can't find enough women? Your network is the problem. 
→ Hit your cap? Good. That discomfort is the point.

A structural rule that forces better rooms.

Here's what could happen: 
→ Conversations get sharper 
→ Perspectives multiply 
→ The energy shifts 
→ People actually come back

Diverse rooms build better AI.

On paper, I am the least qualified person to build the world's largest AI community.

History major. Ex-consultant. To this day I can't write a line of code without Claude.

Back in 2022, I was in BCG's New York office when ChatGPT dropped.

I was scared shitless. Then I became obsessed.

Slowly, then all at once, AI tools started making me better at everything I was afraid it would replace me at. 

But I kept thinking about everyone who WOULDN'T catch that wave. And I knew that people most affected by AI would be the least included in the conversation.

Non-technical people, women, and underrepresented communities are still adopting AI at significantly lower rates.

They desperately needed a seat at the table then. But most people looked at me like I was wearing a tin-foil hat.

I knocked on every door I could find with. And was met with a steady stream of rejections, maybes, silence. 

In 2023, I wrote this in a fellowship application:

"I hope to catapult myself into field-building and advocacy to confront what I consider the most urgent risk posed to humanity: AI."

I didn't get the fellowship...

But I'm doing that *exact* thing three years later, bar for bar. 

The thing I was most afraid of became the thing that set me free.

The gap between where you are and where you want to be isn't a skills gap. It's a permission gap. You're waiting for someone to tell you you're ready.

Nobody is coming.

This has nothing to do with AI or tech. But I need to share it anyway.

Last June, I developed severe tendonitis in both arms. The kind that takes over your life. And especially the things you take for granted. 

Typing, opening doors, eating. Yes, some days, even holding silverware was too much.

But I'm happy to share that yesterday, I played the piano for 15 minutes!!

For most people, that's nothing. But for me, it's everything.

I've been trained in classical piano since I was 5. Started composing in middle school. Music has always been the thing that's mine.

Until it wasn't. 

It started on a Sunday night. Hunched over my keyboard finishing a project. A full conference the next day. A subtle ache I ignored because I was "too busy."

By Monday morning, both hands were completely immobilized.

I still showed up to work. My team was stunned. Some were angry I'd let it get this bad and still walked through the door like nothing happened.

In that moment, showing up for work felt more important than showing up for myself.

We celebrate the grind. 
We praise people who "push through." 

I did it too, until my body forced me to stop.

Your body isn't an obstacle to work around. Showing up injured isn't heroic - it's a debt your future self has to repay.

Yesterday, I sat down and played for 15 minutes.

Far from perfect. But for the first time in nearly a year, finally possible.

Listen to your body. It's the only one you get.

OpenAI just handed McKinsey the keys to deploy AI across every Fortune 500 company. Why isn't this getting more attention?

As an ex-consultant, I've been expecting this for some time.

Here's what happened - OpenAI partnered with McKinsey, BCG, Accenture, and Capgemini. This follows similar moves Anthropic made last fall to expand into enterprise markets.

Zooming out a little, we've been watching AI adoption happen in layers: 

First it was individual (2023-2024): ChatGPT, personal productivity
Then it was workflow (2024-2025): copilots, internal tools
Now it's institutional (2026+): AI agents embedded into operating models

This might read as a threat to white-collar workers. But that's also missing the point. 

I caught up with a friend from McKinsey this week (crazy timing). We both started in consulting. I left, they stayed. We arrived at the same conclusion from opposite directions. 

Our hot take is that winners in what comes next are the people with 1) the strongest relationships and 2) the most adaptive to change. 

And I think we're still early. Legacy industries will take some time to adopt, even with these major enterprise deals.

Today is International Women's Day 🌸 

It's also Daylight Saving Time. Which means the one day a year we celebrate women who do everything, we gave them less time to do it.

Ironic, right? 

But I'm not worried about the hour. 
The women I know have been doing more with less their entire careers.

I've spent the last few years building The AI Collective alongside some of the most extraordinary women I've ever met.

I sincerely believe that the future of AI won't be just decided by the people building it. It will be decided by the people living with it.

And the most important conversation of our generation is happening without us.

Things are about to change.

What is a human being supposed to get done in a day anymore?

I'm not sure. But I do know I keep pushing the limits to the point of no return And this week in SF made that ABUNDANTLY clear.

Social limits: how much you can context switch between conversations
Cognitive limits: how much your brain can actually compute + execute
Physical limits: I don't think I need to explain that one

And then on top of all of that - what does the world expect from us? What do we demand from ourselves?

We talk about the 100x engineer. But nobody talks about the human cost of being 100x'd. 

And even less talk about what it means for other roles. The 100x operator. The 100x sales rep. The 100x whatever-you-are.

The tools keep multiplying every day. Browser agents. Automated workflows. MCP. Generative AI. We're harvesting + deploying intelligence at an accelerating rate.

But to what end?

Because the part that nobody says out loud is that time you "save" doesn't belong to you. It gets reinvested immediately into a higher baseline of what's now possible.

You're not falling behind because you're failing. 
You FEEL like you're falling behind because the floor keeps rising.

I am absolutely fried. This is the hardest I've ever worked in my life. 

And I still have that gnawing feeling that I could always be doing more because of the seemingly infinite productivity gains that have been unlocked. 

But what do we actually gain from hyper-productivity when we've lost what it was supposed to unlock?

I think more of us are sitting with this question than are willing to say so.

Is there such a thing as enough?
