The US government just sparked war on Anthropic, and on AI safety as a whole. This is the MOST important conversation our generation will have on AI.

The entire world is watching.

The US government just directed every federal agency to immediately cease use of all Anthropic's products. Full exile. 

"We don't need it, we don't want it, and will not do business with them again."

But here's the bigger story.

Anthropic is a patriotic company. They've been serving the armed forces for years. But they have a BACKBONE - they will not use their intelligence for domestic surveillance on US citizens, and they will not create autonomous murder machines.

These are fundamental boundaries of a pro-human future.
And because of that backbone, they're getting exiled.

Within hours, OpenAI swooped in and accepted. No questions asked.

This isn't right. 

AI is moving faster than ever, and we need ethics-driven people at the table. 

I'm urging every single person in my audience to stand up and be counted. 
Having a platform means nothing if you're not willing to use it.

I'm going to say something unconventional.

As a man in tech, you walk into an AI event that's 80% men.
You don't think twice. I didn't either.

My first AI meetup - looked around the room, barely any women, didn't even register. That's the problem.

22% of AI talent are women, and only 12% of AI researchers globally.

Men navigate this industry effortlessly. We don't even notice the rooms we're in.

Here's what we don't say out loud: men control the rooms.

We curated them this way. The invite lists, the speaker lineups, the default networks - that was us. And if we built it, we can fix it.

The responsibility sits with us, it's on our shoulders. 

So here's an idea every event organizer should try: 
A strict 1:1 ratio. Women to men. No exceptions.

→ Want to add people? Invite women first. 
→ Can't find enough women? Your network is the problem. 
→ Hit your cap? Good. That discomfort is the point.

A structural rule that forces better rooms.

Here's what could happen: 
→ Conversations get sharper 
→ Perspectives multiply 
→ The energy shifts 
→ People actually come back

Diverse rooms build better AI. 

If you're hosting an AI event this year, try this at your next one.
For every man you add, add a woman first.
