We built digital products to help insurance agents, brokers, wholesalers to automate customer acquisition, lead qualification tasks, and the quoting process. Some examples were interactive web apps that run prospects' fact-finding, qualify leads, pre-populate ACORD forms, and organize information in a super simple CRM. Insurance agents and brokers who used our tools saw a significant increase in time savings and could manage twice as many customers.

We were honored to win the support of:
• 2018 - 19 NYU 300K Entrepreneurs Challenge (Semi-finalist)

• 2019 NYU Summer Sprint
• Ignite Fellowship Beta

Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic introduced team and sales dynamics that made our quest difficult to drive forward.

Genade's story ended in December 2020. Many challenges in the world of insurance agents' productivity, lead management, and customer acquisition remain unsolved, and we failed to create a sustainable platform for running an insurance agency on autopilot.

Most people hyping the latest AI tool haven't built anything beyond a 30-minute demo.

Josh did the opposite. Product-focused CTO with 25 years of coding experience:

He went all-in, spending 3 months using AI to write every line of code for a new product (attention! Not a toy project.) as a real test of what happens when you actually commit.

The product shipped. It worked. He felt productive.

Then he needed to make a simple change and couldn't confidently modify his own code.

"Who owns that product, Josh? You or Claude Code?" Bob Galen asked him.

The answer: Claude Code owned it. Josh had become a passenger in his own product development.

This is the intellectual honesty the AI conversation needs. Not another breathless demo. Not another "look what I built in 10 minutes" post. An actual engineer doing the hard work of understanding what happens when delegation replaces comprehension.

With this experience in mind, whilst I continue to drive impact in my role, 
I am also focusing on a passion: 
inspiring other women to grow their career.

Without fear of burnout, 
without overwhelm, 
and with confidence to do so by being their authentic selves.

I am teaching skills needed to navigate and thrive in the corporate landscape.

The best leaders I’ve worked with had one thing in common:

Their humanity. 

Whilst we do our best, there are times when we can’t show up as our best selves at work. 

We might be…
> battling self-doubt
> balancing high pressure
> managing a personal loss 
> dealing with stress or change at home 

There are often reasons that call for additional grace, space and support. 

When I reflect on these moments of my past, there have been standout leaders, and not so standout.

The types of leaders who leave a mark…  
✅ practice empathy and understanding 
✅ tell you to ‘take the time you need’ 
✅ put your needs above their own 
✅ take things off your plate 
✅ show genuine care 

Vs the ones who drive attrition… 
🔴 put people last 
🔴 lack transparency  
🔴 prioritise their own ambition 
🔴 focus on performance alone 
🔴 value hours worked above all else

Leadership carries weight.
You never know how a small moment, or comment, might impact someone else.

And it’s these micro-moments that shape your legacy.

Yes, growth and performance matter.
But I want to balance delivery with how I make people feel.

Because no result is worth it if people are left behind.
No title is worth it, if you’re remembered for the wrong reasons.

As I reflect on my career, 
there's one piece of advice I always come back to:

'The things that scare you the most, will grow you the most.' 

Every major leap in my career started with fear.
↳ Changing roles into a new business area
↳ Presenting to Exco for the first time
↳ Sharing a personal story on stage
↳ Moving countries pregnant

Each time, I felt unprepared. Not ready. 
Worried it wouldn’t work out.
And each time, I grew.

What I've learned? 
The fear never really goes away.

Even CEOs I’ve spoken to still feel it - the nerves in your gut that remind you, you're doing something you haven't tried before.
Because the moment you stop feeling it, is when you stop growing.

Here’s how I get through it:
I remind myself that anything new feels uncomfortable only the first time.

Much like the gym: the first session hurts.
The next time, not as much.
Eventually, it feels natural.

It’s the same at work.
The first presentation makes you tremble.
The next is easier.
After a few rounds, you’re confident.

Every skill is a muscle - one we build and stretch.

So if you’re feeling discomfort right now, be proud.

It means you’re in a new challenge that’s shaping the next version of you.

How to build unshakeable confidence

Moving across the world teaches you things you didn’t know you needed to learn.

Firstly: Ireland is tough in winter!

Late sunrises, early sunsets. 
Constant drizzle. Icy streets. 
Days without sunlight. 
To the point where it’s medical advice to take Vitamin D from Halloween to Valentine’s Day. 

It’s easy to slip into negativity. Focus on what I miss about home.

But big life changes, require resilience and a positive mindset. 

So now, I’m on the hunt for glimmers.  

Glimmer = the opposite of a trigger. 
Tiny moments that bring calm, peace, connection, or joy - even on the hard days. 

Today, I found 3: 
• My son’s cheeky smile as he did something naughty 
• The comforting taste of my morning coffee 
• The fresh air on a brisk walk

But here's the thing... 

Finding glimmers is an active exercise. 
You have to intentionally look for them. 
And when you do, you'll find it's easier and easier to find them. 
And you'll feel lighter and lighter every day.

Here's how I hunt them out: 

1. Gratitude rampage:
↳ Set a timer for 10 minutes
↳ Write as many things I'm grateful for - big or small

2. Mindful moments:
↳ Focus on the one activity I’m doing
↳ If I’m walking, I notice the nature around me
↳ If I’m listening to music, I hear every instrument
↳ I start to appreciate the energy it took to create what I usually take for granted. 

3. Physical connection 
↳ A hug with my husband. 
↳ A play-wrestle with my son. 
↳ A deep breath to be fully present in that moment

An international move makes you choose your mindset. 

It's not always easy, but I'm pushing mine to look for glimmers.

5 steps to engineer an internal move

The most underrated, 
yet essential skill to growing your career...

Knowing how to present information so others actually absorb it.

It’s not about fancy slides. 
It’s about:
 – Structuring ideas logically
 – Saying less, but making it count
 – Highlighting value, not just effort

I’ve worked with brilliant people who struggled with this. 
And it would dilute their impact, and effectiveness.

They’d use 100 words when 10 would do.
Or fill a slide with paragraphs.

Their ideas were sharp, their thinking was unparalleled. 
But without clarity, their message fell flat.

To ensure this doesn't happen to you, try this trick the next time you're presenting:

Use the 'Three Tell Rule'.

1. Tell them what you're going to tell them.
↳ Give a summary up-front of the 3-5 main points you're about to go through.

2. Tell them.
↳ Go through each of your main points, and their supporting data, one by one. 

3. Remind them what you told them.
↳ Wrap up with a final slide that reminds of the main take-aways.
