Non nasco "venditore".

Anzi, per anni ho pensato che per vendere servissero la parlantina, la giacca giusta e uno script imparato a memoria.

Oggi, dopo 15 anni passati tra i cubicoli della vendita "vecchia scuola" e i software delle startup più avanzate, la mia filosofia è l'esatto opposto:

Ho capito che non serve spingere; preferisco 'riflettere' quello che dice l'altro con il mirroring. 
Entro in chiamata senza una checklist rigida e non sparo domande in sequenza come se fosse un interrogatorio.
Guido la conversazione con empatia e ascolto attivo, adattando il mio stile a quello dell’interlocutore in tempo reale.

Il paradosso è proprio questo: meno cerchi di "piazzare", più chiudi.

Perché quando togli l'ansia della performance e ti concentri sulla diagnosi del problema, dall'altra parte non vedono più un commerciale che vuole una commissione, ma un partner che domina la materia.

E nel B2B non si compra da chi è simpatico, si compra dai professionisti.

L’interlocutore non era un profilo junior: Profilo tecnico di altissimo livello, investitore in startup, founder di lungo corso. 
Una di quelle figure senior che hanno visto di tutto, capiscono le dinamiche al volo e soprattutto non hanno tempo da perdere in chiacchiere.

Ha portato subito il socio operativo in call, ha ascoltato e ha chiuso il discorso con la frase che ogni commerciale vorrebbe sentire: "Mi piace, è esattamente quello che serve a noi adesso, mandatemi il contratto".

Niente obiezioni pretestuose, niente "le farò sapere", niente cicli di vendita infiniti.
Non l'ho chiuso in poche ore perché sono un fenomeno della vendita. 
È stato tutto merito del lavoro fatto prima.

Nel mondo startup siamo ossessionati dal Product-Market Fit, ma nel B2B spesso sottovalutiamo quello che io chiamo Message-Market Fit.
Quando il tuo posizionamento è cristallino e il targeting è chirurgico, la call smette di essere una battaglia di persuasione e diventa una semplice verifica tecnica tra professionisti.

Se il messaggio intercetta il bisogno latente della persona giusta, la velocità di chiusura non è un'eccezione.

È la conseguenza logica di aver fatto bene i compiti a casa.
Se devi "convincere" troppo, probabilmente stai parlando alla persona sbagliata o con il messaggio sbagliato.

La prima cosa che sconvolge chi è abituato a vendere sui mercati internazionali è che, in Italia, il B2B ha ancora un bias enorme verso il Cold Outreach.

Appena si tocca il tema del prospecting attivo, il dibattito si polarizza:
Le critiche sono sempre le solite tre: "È spam", "Il tasso di risposta è nullo", oppure l'illusione del "meglio solo Inbound", scordandosi che l'Inbound è lento a ingranare (ramp-up) e ha costi CAC spesso insostenibili per scalare velocemente.

Spesso queste obiezioni nascono da chi confonde l'Outbound con il telemarketing massivo, o da chi non ha mai gestito seriamente l'infrastruttura tecnica che permette all'Outbound di essere efficace
La realtà, a mio avviso, è diversa.

Sui mercati internazionali l'Outbound è una leva di business accettata: i decision maker sono abituati a valutare proposte, purché ci sia RILEVANZA
Proprio per questo un sistema moderno di Outbound non lavora su volumi indifferenziati.
Parte da una definizione granulare dell'ICP, sfrutta Intent Data e Trigger Events per intercettare il tempismo giusto, e crea flussi che portano valore, invece di stressare per vendere subito.

Chi impara oggi a costruire workflows di outbound ottimizzati per la rilevanza in Italia, mentre gli altri discutono se "le mail funzionano oppure no", si assicura un vantaggio competitivo e una velocità di pipeline davvero interessante. 
Meno pregiudizi, più processo.

Nei mercati ad alta velocità come gli Emirati, la rilevanza è l'unica valuta che conta davvero. Se il targeting è accurato e la proposta intercetta un bisogno reale, la dimensione dell'interlocutore diventa irrilevante: il decisore vede la soluzione e agisce di conseguenza.

Sto affrontando la fase più delicata per la crescita di ogni azienda: il passaggio dalle founder-led sales a un sistema scalabile.

È una sfida che ho vissuto molte volte, ma la lezione non cambia mai: non puoi delegare ciò che non hai prima mappato analiticamente.

In questo momento ci sono giornate in cui concentro anche 10 o 12 discovery call. Lo faccio perché so che per evolvere SalesMagic devo estrarre i pattern, le casistiche e le domande che funzionano davvero per trasformarli in un playbook replicabile.

Ma attenzione: industrializzare la mia esperienza non significa robotizzarla.
Anzi, è l'esatto opposto.

L'industrializzazione del processo serve a togliere di mezzo il "rumore" per arrivare all'unica cosa che conta davvero: la verità della discovery.
Inutile cercare di sembrare il più bravo della stanza; serve stare zitti e ascoltare per mappare il contesto e leggere il vero "why now" del prospect.

Tuttavia, un appuntamento non è mai uguale all'altro perché ogni canale porta un livello di consapevolezza diverso:

▪️ Lead Inbound (Network, Referral, Content): Qui il prospect ha già fatto un passo verso di te. Chiedere: “Come sei arrivato a noi?” non è una formalità. Serve ad attivare la social proof psicologica e a capire cosa lo ha convinto davvero.
▪️ Lead Outbound (Cold email, Calling, LinkedIn): Qui hai bussato tu. Non sei l’unico fornitore con cui parla. Devi dimostrare di aver fatto i “compiti a casa” per aprire una conversazione empatica e differenziarti immediatamente.
▪️ WhatsApp (Meta Ads): Un contesto ancora diverso, dove l'aspettativa di velocità e il tono della conversazione cambiano radicalmente.

Non puoi scalare se tratti ogni lead allo stesso modo. 
Prima mappi il contesto, poi costruisci il sistema per delegarlo.

L’automazione nel Modern B2B GTM non nasce per sostituire le persone.

Nasce per scalare la nostra capacità di essere presenti, rilevanti e autentici attraverso una GTM Engineering che mette al centro il contesto, non il volume.

Io e il mio co-founder Federico ne parlavamo proprio l'altro giorno a pranzo a Milano con Matteo Fois; 
anche dal suo osservatorio privilegiato sul mercato USA, la visione è identica.
Dietro i workflow che costruiamo in SalesMagic c'è un obiettivo banale: la precisione.

Per molti, "automatizzare" significa usare l’AI per scrivere email a caso e inondare le caselle di posta di sconosciuti.
Per me, l’automazione è una forma di rispetto.
Rispetto per il tempo di chi riceve il messaggio, perché riceve qualcosa di realmente utile.
E rispetto per il tempo di chi vende, perché smette di fare attività ripetitive e torna a fare il suo vero lavoro: costruire relazioni.

L’equilibrio per scalare senza perdere qualità si basa su una gerarchia precisa:

1) I Dati: definire l'ICP reale e intercettare i Buying Signals attraverso dati granulari.
2) Il Messaggio: trasformare quei dati in un messaggio che non sembri mai generato da un bot, ma sia figlio di un'analisi di mercato profonda.
3) La Tecnologia: l’ultimo miglio, lo strumento che orchestra il tutto.

Se inverti l'ordine e parti dalla tecnologia, finisci per bruciare la tua reputazione sul mercato.
Se metti l'analisi dei dati e l'intent scoring al primo posto, l’automazione diventa un servizio invisibile.

Non serve a 'sembrare' umani con qualche trucco di copywriting. 
Serve a usare la tecnologia per liberare tempo e tornare a parlare davvero con le persone.

L'idea è far crescere i risultati senza per forza dover raddoppiare il team.
Alla fine, un sistema fatto bene serve proprio a questo: ridare valore al lavoro delle persone, togliendo di mezzo la spazzatura operativa.

La tecnologia deve essere un acceleratore di competenza, non un sostituto.

Niente vanity metrics. 
È semplicemente il tetto massimo di deliverability tecnica che puoi toccare oggi.

Perché è un segnale cruciale per chi fa B2B?
Chi lavora con l'Outbound sa che la maggior parte dei tool utilizza pool di IP condivisi. 
Funziona un po' come in un condominio: se il tuo vicino fa festa fino alle 3 di notte, non dormi nemmeno tu, anche se alle 22 eri a letto.
Nel nostro mondo: se un altro utente usa liste sporche o fa spam dallo stesso pool di IP, la reputazione del server crolla. E le tue mail finiscono in spam, anche se hai scritto il messaggio perfetto.

Fortunatamente, l'ecosistema sta diventando meritocratico.
L'accesso a questo Tier non si compra, si guadagna solo con metriche impeccabili:
▪️ Bounce Rate prossimi allo zero (Igiene liste maniacale).
▪️Protocolli SPF, DKIM e DMARC configurati a regola d'arte.
▪️Spam Complaint Rate inesistente (Rilevanza > Volume).

È la prova, numeri alla mano, che curare l'infrastruttura paga più dei volumi.
Se la deliverability la curi davvero, e non solo a parole, gli algoritmi se ne accorgono.

Avanti così, un'email (consegnata in inbox) alla volta.

Il talento in giro non manca, anzi.

Quello che manca davvero è un processo che funzioni per tutti, non solo per il fuoriclasse di turno.
Significa fare reverse engineering del successo.

Spesso il top performer agisce d'istinto, ma l'istinto non scala. 
Noi analizziamo i data points, i pattern ricorrenti e le obiezioni superate per trasformare quella "magia" individuale in una procedura standardizzata.

Il mio obiettivo oggi è proprio questo: mappare il talento individuale per trasformarlo in un metodo che funzioni sempre, anche se non ci sono io in chiamata. 
Dobbiamo codificare quella naturalezza e trasformarla in un asset aziendale replicabile.

È l'unico modo per non dipendere più dal 'colpo di fortuna' del singolo e avere finalmente qualcosa che regge nel tempo. 
L'obiettivo non è mai stato quello di aggiungere persone, ma di moltiplicare i risultati attraverso la forza di un sistema che non dipende più dai "geni" del commerciale di turno.

Perché un'azienda che dipende dai singoli eroi è fragile. 
Un'azienda fondata su un sistema ingegnerizzato, invece, è un asset che acquista valore ogni giorno, indipendentemente da chi occupa la sedia.

Ed è esattamente la sfida che porteremo avanti insieme a Jessica Pretti, la nostra nuova VP of Sales.

Settimana scorsa abbiamo dato il via (in sordina) al primo GTM Engineering Bootcamp.

Nessun lancio pubblico, nessuna pagina di vendita luccicante. 
Solo un gruppo ristretto di professionisti e un obiettivo: validare il "Sistema Operativo" di SalesMagic sul campo.

Non stiamo spiegando "trucchetti" di copywriting o growth hack del momento. Stiamo letteralmente aprendo il cofano della nostra agenzia per mostrare come si costruisce un asset proprietario.

Parliamo di infrastruttura, di segnali d'acquisto, di data enrichment e di come trasformare un processo commerciale caotico in una macchina prevedibile. 
È la differenza tra dare un pesce e insegnare a costruire un peschereccio industriale.

I've seen founders lose their startup because of a bad hire.
Because of their *first* sales hire.

It happens more than you think.

You're a founder.
Limited sales background.

You know you need to build your first sales team. 
So what do you do?

You hire the senior salesperson.

Big CV.

From a competitor.

Investors like it too.
They feel safer when you're not the only one selling. 🙈

Let's call her Maria.
You pay her a lot.
More than anyone else.
3x your founder salary.

Maria joins.

You give her the title: Head of Sales. CRO, whatever.

A few months go by.

Maria is slow.

She doesn't really get it.

Marketing agencies 🦸🦸‍♀️

For the first two years of Inscaler, 90% of my clients were tech startups.

And most still are.

Then an agency founder showed up.

Smart. Forward-thinking. 

He thought he needed a more "tech-style" way of building his first sales team.

So I stepped in as their Fractional VP of Sales.

At the beginning, it was messy.

No qualification frameworks. No real discovery. 

Sales happened via referrals and face-to-face.

And honestly? The classic tech playbook didn't land.

So I stopped forcing it.

I adapted.

Instead of pushing BANT or any other qualification framework ⤵
I asked the team to slow down and 𝗳𝗼𝗰𝘂𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘆.

Before briefings. Before proposals.

We started with simple questions:

- 𝘞𝘩𝘺 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘪𝘯𝘵𝘦𝘳𝘦𝘴𝘵𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘯 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘴𝘦𝘳𝘷𝘪𝘤𝘦𝘴?
- 𝘞𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘪𝘭𝘭 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘦 𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘨𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘺 𝘷𝘴 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴? 
(most projects are based on tenders or RFPs)

Nothing fancy.

Then came the most difficult shift.

Marketing agencies are used to sending out proposals with poor qualifications. 

This leads to:

❌ low conversions - very low.
❌ productivity issues where they *think* they are busy.

So I asked them to stop sending out proposals and ask:

"𝘋𝘰 𝘸𝘦 𝘩𝘢𝘷𝘦 𝘢𝘵 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘴𝘵 𝘢 𝟧𝟢% 𝘤𝘩𝘢𝘯𝘤𝘦 𝘰𝘧 𝘤𝘭𝘰𝘴𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘴?"

Not 50? Okay.

40? 30 at least?

If the answer is no, don't send the proposal.

That one change alone saved time, energy, and morale. 💪

I love agencies ❤

The most significant upside often sits in industries that were left behind from a sales perspective.

Tech startups and scaleups know the playbook. 
Or at least they *think* they know 👀

Agencies were left behind. 

They used old sales tactics and a poor process.

I love admin.

GSheets. CRM updates. Invoicing.

Most people hate it. I enjoy it.

What don't I enjoy?

Strategic work. Questioning what works. Preparing for what's coming next.

For a long time, I hid behind tasks I liked.

Now I block admin time and force myself to focus on 1 or 2 strategic goals per period.

𝟮. 𝗦𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀 𝗶𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝘁𝗽𝘂𝘁

Since day one, Inscaler had one offer. I never changed the structure.

3 Packages based on live hours with me.

I never sold "hours".
But my SKU was hours.

That's changed now.

After helping 150+ startups build their first sales teams, I finally have the data and the information to commit to clear outputs.

I couldn't do it before.

It took time. Longer than expected.

𝟯. 𝗔𝗹𝘄𝗮𝘆𝘀 𝗯𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 "𝗼𝗻"

If I had nothing to do, I worked anyway.

Even during holidays.

A few days ago, my wife Federica walked into my office and said it clearly:

"𝘐𝘧 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦'𝘴 𝘯𝘰𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘥𝘰, 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘦 𝘶𝘱𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘪𝘳𝘴. 𝘠𝘰𝘶 𝘴𝘵𝘢𝘺 𝘸𝘪𝘵𝘩 𝘶𝘴."

She was right.

I worked on Christmas Day and when I was sick in bed.

I'm writing this at 6 am.

2026 will be a big year for Inscaler.
New offering. New structure.

I'm scared and excited at the same time.

The format works. That's clear.

Now it's time to step up.

Consulting and LinkedIn are full of noise.

My goal is simple.

Be the opposite of that noise.

We'll see.
