Common Ground Matters.

“Therefore, let us no longer judge one another...” — Romans 14:13

I’ve seen friendships damaged over something as trivial as a basketball debate—Jordan vs. LeBron. What starts as opinion can quickly turn personal. Words get sharp. Pride takes over. And before you know it, two people who were fine are now sinning against one another.

Paul warns us about this.

There are truths in our faith that are non-negotiable—doctrine rooted in Scripture. But there are also traditions, preferences, and denominational differences that are not worth wounding a brother or sister over.

Music style. Communion timing. Secondary issues.

If we insist on winning every argument, we risk losing something far more important: love, unity, and witness.

Stand firm on truth.
Hold Scripture high.
But don’t confuse conviction with arrogance.

Instead of debating to win, listen to understand. Look for common ground in the love of Christ. Build up—don’t become a stumbling block.

Is it Price or Perception?

Most people think the most stressful moment in selling is saying the price.

It’s not.

The stress shows up long before that—when the conversation isn’t properly qualified.

When I teach sales, I teach this truth:
👉 Price is never the problem. Perception is.

If you do discovery right—really right—the price moment becomes the easiest part of the call.

That means asking real questions.
Not surface-level ones.

Questions that uncover:
• Their dream
• Their pain
• Their urgency
• Their financial reality
• Their capacity to execute

Your job isn’t to sell people what you want them to buy.
Your job is to guide them to what actually fits where they are.

That’s service.

Before I ever state a price, I do three things:
1️⃣ Call back the value of their dream
2️⃣ Call back the cost of their nightmare if nothing changes
3️⃣ Reference more expensive alternatives (time, DIY, missed opportunity)

Then—and only then—I reveal the investment.

When numbers go down, tension goes up.
When numbers go up, your price feels grounded and manageable.

Done right, selling stops feeling like pressure...
and starts feeling like leadership.

Be Quick. But Don’t Hurry.

This was one of John Wooden’s most repeated maxims—and it might be one of the most misunderstood leadership principles today.

Hurry creates mistakes.
Hesitation creates missed opportunities.

Elite leaders live in the middle ground: quickness under control.

In business and life, impatience and unrealistic timelines sabotage even the most talented teams. We rush outcomes instead of mastering execution. We confuse motion with progress. And before we know it, we’re busy—but not effective.

Wooden taught that:

Remove hesitation, not discipline
Move decisively, not recklessly
Focus on effort, not outcomes you can’t control
Quickness comes from preparation.
Hurry comes from fear.
When leaders are prepared, decisions are faster, cleaner, and calmer. When they’re not, activity replaces achievement—and everyone pays the price.

Here’s the gut-check Wooden posted for his teams:
“If you don’t have time to do it right, when will you have time to do it over?”

That question still separates average leaders from great ones.

A dangerous man doesn’t drift into hardship—he is deployed.

If you’re in a pit, a delay, a season of obscurity, or under fire, it isn’t accidental.

God does not misplace His men.

Joseph didn’t choose the pit.
David didn’t volunteer for the cave.
Paul didn’t schedule the prison.
Christ didn’t evade the cross.

And yet, each could say with conviction:
I am here by God’s appointment.

“The steps of a man are established by the Lord, when he delights in His way.” — Psalm 37:23

“For this reason I was born, and for this purpose I have come.” — John 18:37
Stop asking, “Why am I here?”

Start declaring, “I am here on assignment.”
Refuse self-pity.
Refuse panic.
Refuse the lie that you’ve missed God.

Where you stand right now is not a punishment.
It’s a post.

Stand firm. Hold the line. Learn what heaven is teaching you here—because promotion follows obedience.

A Good Gift

“Every good and perfect gift is from above...” — James 1:17

I recently received a gift I never had growing up—brand-new basketball shoes.

Simple? Maybe.
Meaningful? Absolutely.

As a kid, I wore whatever shoes the discount store had. And for a moment, I found myself wondering... Would things have been different if I’d had the real thing back then?

I’ll never know.

But I do know this—the person who gave me that gift knew me.

Christmas reminds us that God knows us even better.

Scripture tells us every good and perfect gift comes from the Father—and the greatest gifts He ever gave were Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
Jesus, to reconcile us to God.

The Holy Spirit, to guide us, strengthen us, and intercede for us daily.

Two perfect gifts.
Given because God knew we couldn’t do life on our own.

This Christmas, pause and thank the Giver—not just for what’s under the tree, but for the grace, love, peace, and hope we receive every single day.

There’s an old story about animals starting a school.
Everyone had to run, climb, swim, and fly.

The duck stopped swimming to work on running.
The rabbit burned out trying to swim.
The squirrel got frustrated being forced to fly the wrong way.
The eagle was labeled a problem—because he flew instead of climbed.

The school failed.

Why?
Because it ignored design.

God doesn’t mass-produce people.
He designs with intention.

When we force ourselves—or others—into molds God never intended, the result is frustration, discouragement, and mediocrity. But when we lean into how God uniquely wired us, something powerful happens.

Your abilities are not accidental.
They are directional.

They are often the clearest roadmap to God’s will for your life.

Scripture promises that God equips you for His purposes—and produces good fruit through you when you walk in alignment with how He made you.

Stop comparing.
Stop contorting.
Start stewarding what God placed in you.

That’s where peace, impact, and obedience meet.
