Driving the other day, someone blew past me on the right while I had my blinker on.

My first thought?

“What an ahole.**”

I realized something quickly.

Timeout.

In the 1993 NCAA Championship game, Michigan’s Chris Webber called a timeout with 11 seconds left.

The problem?
They had no timeouts remaining.

The result was a technical foul—and the game slipped away.

One small decision in a critical moment changed everything.

Life can be the same way.

We push through our days at full speed—meetings, deadlines, responsibilities—rarely stopping to pause and reflect.

But one of the greatest leaders in Scripture, Moses, prayed:

“Teach us to number our days carefully so that we may develop wisdom in our hearts.” —Psalm 90:12

Wisdom grows when we slow down long enough to seek God’s perspective.

A daily “timeout” with God allows us to step back and ask:

• Am I making the most of today?
