I was watching to a youtube video on parenting and how to prevent tantrums with kids - it's a little early but hey, whatever. The video talked about how: if your kid asks for candy in a store... and if you KNOW that eventually after a lot of crying etc you will buy them candy... Just get them the candy and save the crying. And I realized - it's the same thing in business:

You KNOW you have to send cold emails, or raise or prices...

Or even make cold calls.

But instead of doing it now... you're having the equivalent of a tantrum with yourself.

I watched one of our sales reps last night do a call with a potential member who COULD NOT stop comparing us to the other paid groups out there. Back at the Wynn coffee shop after spending the last few days at a different hotel and I gotta say, the energy here is just different. Better people, higher energy.

I might have a problem... I see writing as a meditation of sorts - a daily practice where the joy of going to a spot, getting a coffee, opening the laptop and writing is matched only by the joy of the Stripe notifications that come in every time we hit send.

And all I can think when I hear stuff like that is... counting other people's net worth will NEVER increase yours.

Ask me what Hormozi is doing. Or even what he posted.

I have no idea.

You could ask dozens of actual business people and get the same answer.

We not only do not know. We do not care.

It's irrelevant to our businesses.

Because when we're building out cold email systems for B2B businesses, or grinding away at a SaaS, or going monk mode in another country for 6 months to work on something that will change the lives of our wives, our kids and our kid's kids... whether somebody went to miami or LA last night is not just irrelevant.. it's poisonous.

If this is you AT ALL, I need you to cut it out and just focus on growing your business.

Following the lives of these gurus will take you down in the longterm.

You know how tempting it is every day to write a post like "I'm here eating a cheese danish - it's simple: you got butter, cheese, bread.. put them together and get this danish. Just like you can grow your business by following a recipe" But it's not that simple is it?

Had a client come in that worked in a heavily regulated industry - regulated to the point that they were scared to do email outreach.
