-  Principal Investigator for $500k project on upper limb prosthetic vibratory haptic feedback. Completed objectives of project within budget. Oversaw all study related documentation and reporting to NIDRR, IRB, and other agencies.

Clinical Coordinator / Grant Funding
-  Developed clinical testing aims and study design that resulted $2.5M in grant funding involving novel orthotic and prosthetic devices.
-  Participated in prototype development and managed clinic testing of a microprocessor controlled prosthetic ankle (evolved into attached link), an adjustable orthotic, and an upper extremity socket pressure study.
-  Developed testing procedures and oversaw the clinical testing and analysis of prototype fall risk monitors.

With over 20 years of experience in the medical device industry, Teri has a deep passion for advancing innovative solutions that enhance health outcomes and quality of life. As the CEO of Modus Health, she leads a dynamic team of engineers, scientists, and business professionals, all focused on developing cutting-edge health products for clinical and research markets.

Teri's expertise spans company growth strategies, profit optimization, product development, and spearheading research initiatives. Under her leadership, Modus Health's flagship product, StepWatch, evolved from a research tool into a clinical and pharmaceutical solution, resulting in a 10x increase in product revenue while significantly reducing operational costs.

Appointed as CEO in December 2017, Teri was a founding team member of Modus Health and previously served as the company’s Chief Scientific Officer. During her tenure, she led the funding and development efforts that brought StepWatch 4 and StepWatch 5 to market along with the company’s first mobile apps and cloud systems, revolutionizing mobile health solutions for the clinical and research sectors. Before joining Modus Health, Teri served as the first research scientist at Orthocare Innovations from 2008 to 2013, where she was integral to the startup’s early success.

Teri holds a Ph.D. in bioengineering from the University of Utah and a B.S. from Mississippi State University. In addition to her role at Modus Health, she is an adjunct assistant professor of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at the University of Utah and serves on the board of Genovus Biotechnologies Inc.

Teri is driven by a commitment to improving mobility for individuals, and she believes that accurate measurement of walking activity is key to achieving this goal.
