I went to ACTS to help them however I could.  What I ended up doing was helping them to upgrade their network infrastructure to link the main clinic with the pharmacy as well as to other local health resources.  I also won them grants from Microsoft and Dell for new software and computers.

Since 2009, I've been using animation to tell stories that matter. Stories are powerful. They tell us who we are, what we believe in, and how we should relate to the world around us. My life is dedicated to using that power to make the world a better place for everyone in it.

Duke & Duck is the Emmy award-winning content studio I started with my best friend Dave back in 2009. We produce brand videos, social content, explainers, advocacy campaigns, and animation for documentaries. Most of our work is direct to clients where we serve as strategic advisors and content creators, but we also work with select agencies as partners. We have years of experience creating award-winning animated content for household brands, including: Capital One, the ACLU, Nestlé, Patagonia, and National Geographic.

In 2022, I founded Double Scoop Studio with a single goal: To make sure that the next generation has access to stories that put as much emphasis on positive social values and impact as they do on entertainment and turning a profit. We make proprietary content for non-profits who want to reach kids, and develop and produce our own original IP. Our partners include the American Red Cross and PBS Kids.

• Senior Associate for Community Preparedness Education and Youth Preparedness programs at National Headquarters 
• Ongoing management, field support, reporting and evaluation of the nationally implemented youth preparedness program, The Pillowcase Project (3rd-5th grade) and Prepare with Pedro (K-2nd grade)

• Supported the immediate program research, creation, training and coordination needs of the Youth Preparedness and Long Term Recovery Project for the US Virgin Islands and Puerto Rico

• Worked in collaboration with internal Red Cross departments (Disaster Mental Health, PHSS, Scientific Advisory Council and Volunteer Services) to support development of accurate and necessary program materials 
• Oversaw pilot program reporting, metrics, monitoring and evaluation process
• Managed program budget of over half a million dollars and responsible for cost justifications 
• Created the Teen Prep program, a youth preparedness curriculum for the US Virgin Islands based on identified program content needs: General Preparedness, Hazard Safety, WATSAN/Vector-Borne Illnesses, Alert VI registration and Coping Skills currently being implemented on St Croix and St Thomas

Long Term Recovery Program Manager, Youth Preparedness

• Supported the development of a "Accessible Instruction for an Inclusive Learning Environment" presentation training guide and resource for preparedness program managers and presenters to better support students with various access and functional needs in partnership with Red Cross volunteers and staff, FEMA, and Safe Kids Inc. 
• Expanded an "Addressing Student Questions and Concerns Related to School Shootings" document for Red Cross preparedness program managers and presenters to reference after a community or national school shooting in partnership with FEMA, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, and Safe Kids Inc.  
• Trained volunteers and staff to be presenters and new program managers for the youth preparedness program, The Pillowcase Project, highlighting best practices and volunteer development 
• Developed an "Authorized Partner Provider" establishment and implementation guide for building local community partnerships derived from a case study review of the experiences of five Red Cross chapters to support the youth disaster preparedness program, The Pillowcase Project 
• Created a program review video of The Pillowcase Project to be used by local chapters 
• Assisted with preparation, logistics, and activities for the Red Cross Youth Preparedness Conference

Youth Preparedness Intern

Tulane University

• Maintained social media accounts for the Disaster Resilience Leadership Academy program through Tulane University’s School of Social Work, along with producing and managing content for the student run blog 
• Engageed with current students and alumni to keep updated information on current internships and careers to share with the program network

Graduate Program Assistant

• Lead in-person and online group discussions covering the topics of trauma and suffering from various religious and non-religious perspectives
• Graded various assignments of 100 undergraduate students on a weekly basis for both online and hybrid SOWK 2510 Making Meaning of Trauma courses
• Created a YouTube channel showcasing the array of viewpoints students are exposed to throughout the course

Graduate Teaching Assistant

• Implemented preparedness education programs for all ages in schools and community events and created preparedness videos for Alaska specific disasters 
• Managed the national youth disaster preparedness program, The Pillowcase Project, throughout the state of Alaska
• Acted as state point of contact for Home Fire Campaign program that installs free smoke alarms in the homes of the community
• On-call responder and caseworker for clients who were affected or displaced by various disasters in both urban and rural Alaska through on scene assistance and follow-up recovery plans 
• Inputted, managed, and closed disaster cases into Client Assistance System  
• Coordinated and trained volunteers in both preparedness education and client casework to expand presence of Red Cross
