Everyone says starting a business is “risky.”

Nobody says having one employer is risky.

But here’s the math:

Corporate job = 1 income stream, 100% risk.

If they lay you off, your income goes to zero overnight.

Fractional business = multiple clients and diversified risk.

3 clients = 33% risk each.

Lose one client, you still have the others.

Which one actually sounds riskier to you?

The “safe” path was never the safe path.

It was just the familiar one.

If I were making $200K/year in my corporate career and felt trapped… I would NOT:

- Ask for WFH
- Ask for more PTO

Corporate careers are “safe” and “high-paying” (until you get laid off).

Whereas working for yourself is risky, right?

The true riskiest thing you can do is have 100% of your income from one employer.

Here's what I'd do instead.

I'd take the skills my company already pays me for and offer them to other companies on a part-time basis.

These are “fractional engagements”.

- You have 10-20+ years of career experience

"Start Amazon KDP!" - Spend thousands on ads selling $10 AI-generated ebooks. Compete against people who've mastered Amazon ads for 15 years.

"Launch an AI agency!" - Cold pitch services you've never delivered. Zero client results. Zero unique mechanism. Zero chance.

"Vending machines!" - $2 profit per sale. The math doesn't work for anyone making $150K/year+.

All these schemes force you to learn a brand new skill or business model from scratch and then somehow compete against established businesses and beat them.

Meanwhile you're burning money, burning your time and burning out.

The gurus promoting these business models get richer selling you shovels. You get poorer digging for gold that isn't there.

They’re “get rich easy” schemes.

Supposedly:

- The AI writes your e-books for you
- The AI does the work for your agency clients for you
- The foot traffic and vending machine products make the money for you
- You buy the boring business and then it prints profit on autopilot without you even managing it

People don’t fail these “business” models because they’re not smart enough, hard-working enough or committed enough.

You're successful in your career. If you applied that same intelligence and work ethic to the right business model - you'd be successful with it too.

But you're distracted with those gimmicks and you haven't seen the path that truly fits you.

What is that path?

The most boring, unsexy, and validated business model in history.

Do what you're already good at… for more people.
