Ethiopia follows the Ge’ez calendar.

A system where the day doesn’t begin in the dark.

So yes, while we say it’s 2026,
Ethiopia is officially in 2018.

Not because it’s behind.
But because it chose a different starting point.

Ethiopia follows the Ge’ez calendar,
a system it kept long before the Gregorian calendar went global.

Here’s the part most people miss:

Different timelines don’t mean wrong timelines.
Different systems don’t mean outdated systems.

Sometimes, progress isn’t about updating the clock.

I checked the currency rate for Iran today. It showed 0.00 USD.

It wasn’t a glitch. 

The Iranian Rial has collapsed so hard that 1 Indian Rupee ≈ 11,719 Rials.

And 1 US dollar commands over 1.4 million Iranian Rials.

It's isn’t just weak, it’s functionally extinct.

To put it in perspective:

Buying a simple loaf of bread? You need a bag full of money.

This isn’t just economics, it’s a humanitarian crisis:

➡️ Inflation over 40%
➡️ Food prices up 70%
➡️ Savings wiped out overnight

Here’s the bigger lesson:

Money is just a promise. 

When that promise breaks, the math of daily life collapses. Yesterday’s savings may not even buy a single crumb.

But this goes beyond finance. It’s a reminder that:

➡️ Stability is fragile: No economy, no currency, is immune.

➡️ Diversification isn’t just about investing— It’s about skills, income sources, and even mindset.

➡️ Preparation matters—Whether it’s cash in multiple currencies, tangible assets, or essentials you can rely on when systems fail.

This is why smart investors never keep all their eggs in one basket.
