🚨 Ah - it's a two post kind-of day for me!

I’m just too excited to not immediately share this clip from my recent conversation on the Her Path to Revenue podcast 🎙️ with Janelle Amos - a true powerhouse who is creating space for honest conversations about leadership, growth, and what it really takes to build something meaningful. 🌱 

Over the years, I’ve worked alongside many founders and CEOs - and let me be clear: Founders aren't inherently bad. 

In fact, founders are the reason companies exist at all.

Conviction. 💪 
And maybe just a little bit of insanity to bet on yourself and build something from nothing. 🙃 

But growth introduces a harder chapter.

We’re getting a puppy. 🐶

So my house is about to get a whole lot louder, messier… and probably happier. 😊 

For years, my son has said that when he finally got a dog, its name would be “Frank, the dog.” No debate. No alternatives. 
Just Frank. 🤷‍♀️

But now that the moment is actually here, the certainty has turned into deep deliberation. Suddenly the stakes are high. 

The name matters. 💥 

It’s been fascinating to watch.

Because what started as a simple childhood declaration has turned into something bigger — imagination, ownership, responsibility… and a surprisingly intense conversation about naming and identity.

Our new pup is a very light golden retriever. ⬇️ One of the bigger boys in the litter. Born February 11. Independent, curious, and already showing a little personality. 🤪

Which feels fitting, because bringing a puppy into a home is a lot like bringing new energy into an organization - maybe it’s adding a new team member or maybe it’s launching a new product or maybe it’s even  refining your GTM strategy. ☀️ 

You prepare as best you can.
You know there will be chaos.
You know the routines will change.
And you know growth rarely happens in perfectly controlled conditions. 📈

But you do it anyway — because the joy, loyalty, and life that come with it are worth every muddy paw print. 🐾 

And, much like building a brand (the combination of your team, your products, your positioning) names matter.

Identity matters. 

The way something is introduced to the world matters. What starts as a simple label becomes shorthand for personality, reputation, and trust. ❤️

Right now we’re in the early stages of both:

A new “team member” joining our house…
And a naming debate that has suddenly become very serious business. 👩‍💼 

So LinkedIn, I’m curious:

What would you name this adorable addition? 🥰

Frank is still the frontrunner.

But the branding committee is open to new ideas.

☘️ The luck of the Irish? Maybe. But I think it’s something more. 

Yesterday, in Iceland 🇮🇸, my son and I stood beneath this rainbow - one so close I swear when we reached out we were actually touching it. 🌈

We stood there for several moments, taking it in. (And taking some unforgettable pictures 📸).

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, and as a very Irish family, yesterday’s symbolism wasn’t lost on us. ☘️🌈

But rainbows have always meant more than luck.

A rainbow only appears when the conditions are exactly right - rain, light, timing, and perspective all colliding at once. 💥 

Move a few steps in either direction and it disappears - much like this rainbow that a few steps to either side or forward and back made it disappear altogether. 😱

Standing there, I couldn’t help but think how much of life - and leadership - works the same way.

The conditions might already be there.
The opportunity might already exist.
But sometimes the difference between seeing it and missing it entirely is simply where you’re standing. 🤷‍♀️

The best founders, leaders, and investors I know have a remarkable ability to do exactly that - shift perspective. 👀

They step back.
They change the angle.
They see possibility where others see chaos. 

And suddenly, something extraordinary appears. 🌈

Moments like this remind me that sometimes the opportunity isn’t about forcing the outcome or controlling the conditions.

Sometimes it’s simply about finding the right vantage point - and being present enough to recognize it when it appears. 🙏🏻

So here’s to adventure.
Here’s to perspective.
And maybe… just maybe… a little bit of Irish luck too.

🌀 New England just shut down under a historic blizzard. ❄️

Schools closed.
Flights grounded.
Roads unsafe.
Power outages everywhere. 😱

No childcare.
No travel.
No normal routines.

And yet…

Most of us still worked. 🤦🏼‍♀️

Meetings moved instead of canceled.
Emails still sent.
Deadlines still held.
Calls taken over unstable Wi-Fi while kids turned living rooms into snow-day headquarters. 🤪

It struck me this week:

Even a major storm doesn’t pause work anymore.

Somewhere along the way, business continuity quietly became human continuity — no matter the circumstances. 🤔

Snow days used to be permission to stop.

Now they’re just another logistics problem to solve while staying productive. 🧩

So here’s the uncomfortable question:

If Mother Nature can’t interrupt work…
what exactly are we allowing to?

Because the same professionals who power through blizzards are also postponing:

➡️ Professional development
➡️ Time with family
➡️ Recovery from illness
➡️ Grief
➡️ Joyful moments worth celebrating

We say people should set boundaries.

But culturally, we still reward the people who don’t. 😔

Maybe modern leadership isn’t about proving we can operate through disruption.

Maybe it’s about deciding — intentionally — when work shouldn’t win. 🥉

💜 Today is International Women’s Day — and this year’s theme, “Give to Gain,” resonates deeply with how I believe leadership should work.

Not as a ladder. 🪜 
Not as a competition. 🏆 
But as service. 🤝 

The most powerful leaders I meet don’t hoard knowledge, influence, or opportunity.

They give it away.

They give time. ⏰ 
They give mentorship. 👩‍🏫 
They give honest feedback. ✔️ 
They give sponsorship to women who deserve a seat at the table. 🪑 

🪄 And here’s the magic of it:
When we give, we don’t lose anything. We multiply impact. 💥 

That’s the essence of servant leadership.

When leaders invest in others - through mentorship, visibility, advocacy, or simply opening doors - the ripple effects are enormous. Careers accelerate. Confidence grows. Organizations get stronger. Entire communities benefit. 🌊 

Gender equality isn’t achieved through individual success stories.
It’s built through collective generosity.

Because when women thrive, we all rise. 🚀 

So today I’m reflecting on a simple question:

What will you give to gain gender equality?

Time?
Mentorship?
Advocacy?
Opportunity?

Whatever it is — it matters.
