I was born in Germany into an American-Persian Baha’i family. Speaking three languages at once was the norm. I've lived in Europe, the USA, and Africa, and seen 25+ countries.

After IB, I toured 16+ European countries for a year with a German-based dance group; my dream was to become a multi-media producer. I became a medical doctor instead.

Senior Director - Contracts Management and Administration

● Managed the capital projects of 9 BP's joint venture (JV) facilities (including terminals, marine bunkering services, and a pipeline) in South Africa & Mozambique. Managed a capital expenditure portfolio of more than R600 million (c. $40m).
● Responsible for managing the agreements and relationships with BP’s JV partners including Sasol, Shell, Engen, Astron and Total.
● Standing member of the operations, technical and executive committees of the above-mentioned JV
partnerships.

Joint Ventures Asset Manager

● Developed and implemented reliability and maintenance engineering standards and an Asset Lifecycle Management Programme comprising of major capital projects across BP Southern Africa’s retail station network (~570 retail stations), resulting in standardization of maintenance activities across the national retail station network.
● Responsible for the procurement, onboarding & performance management of all retail project &
maintenance engineering contractors (~30 contractors in total). Achieved improved contractor
performance by 50%.

Engineering Standards and Contracts Manager

● Led a team of 20 maintenance engineers (mechanical, chemical & electrical) across 5 of BP’s operated terminals in South Africa & Mozambique, with an annual budget of approximately R45 million (c. $3m).
● Responsible for driving continuous improvement within the maintenance engineering organization, transitioning from a reactive mode of working to a reliability focused and proactive mode of maintenance. Achieved a reduction in operating risk, 25% maintenance cost reduction and improved terminal uptime by 22% across all 5 terminals.

Reliability and Maintenance Engineering Manager

● Responsible for the planning, scheduling and execution of maintenance and reliability projects comprising 12,000 assets (including storage tanks, pipelines & gantries) on 5 BP-operated terminals in South Africa & Mozambique.

Maintenance Engineering Planner

● Responsible for the successful completion of the following capital projects:
o Design, planning, and execution of the Waltloo Terminal Major Firefighting Upgrade in Pretoria. Total project cost: R150 million (c. $10m).
o Commissioning of a 10 million litre petrol storage tank at Waltloo Terminal in Pretoria.
o Planning of two diesel tank conversions to ethanol storage at Waltloo Terminal in Pretoria.
o Recommissioning of a previously decommissioned storage terminal at Langlaagte in Johannesburg.

● Joined BP Southern Africa through the Future Leaders Programme (FLP) which is aimed at fast-tracking
the careers of talented young professionals within the organization.
● Developed an energy efficiency project for the retail station network as a retail capital projects engineer.
