Turning 55 and the year is ending…

What does one think about? 

Some days…

I just sit down quietly and reflect.

Life is not always about pushing harder.

Sometimes… you just need to breathe, reset, and let the lights guide you home again.

At 55, I’m learning this…

You don’t need to have everything figured out.

You don’t need to “fix” everything or everyone.

You just need to keep walking… one step at a time.

If you’re feeling stuck, tired, or a bit lost this month…

same bro… same.

But maybe this “in-between” is actually the beginning of your next chapter.

“Lights will guide you home.”

Coldplay was right.

P.S. What’s the song playing in your head as you read this?

No train the trainer 

No certification program 

But being on stage felt different. 

Never that I expected to share the stage with my mentor. 

Although I had a secret that I kept. 

I did want to learn from him. 
I did want to spend time learning. 
I did want to find out how he did it. 

I wanted to know his story. 

I did it not because I wanted to be like him.

I did it because I saw that I could figure out and resolve my own challenges. 

No, it didn’t happen overnight. 

Let me go back a little and share the story.

What is one goal you have had for many years?

A goal or a dream starts off with a thought
We either dismiss it or we work towards it
There was a time that I saw someone
speaking on stage, I said to myself
Hey, I wanna do that one day
So keep on dreaming
They will come true
Give it your attention
Invest time and effort
It may be a long winding road
Be aware of your surroundings
It’s alright to have detours on the way
We become the sum of all our experiences
Thank you for this opportunity to speak on stages

It’s easy when it’s easy 

It’s easy during the good times 

Semua orang boleh buat bila benda tu senang. 

Tapi bila situasi jadi susah, barulah kita tahu siapa yang betul-betul ada mastery.

Or at least nak menuju ke arah mastery. 

Mastery ni memerlukan fokus yang dalam. 

Lagi-lagi bila kita mudah terganggu. 

Kau kena ada CCPR (spirit, continuous, consistent, persistent, resilient).

Bukan jadi HHCS (hot hot chicken shit).

Bila lalui journey ni, kita kena jadi macam Pak Izzi kata, mesti CAN-ii.

A continuous and never ending improvement individual. 

Maksudnya, kita sentiasa upgrade diri. 

Upgrade mindset 
Upgrade skill set 
Upgrade tools set 
Upgrade soul set

Hi, I’m Mona 👋🏻 

As a Behaviour Analyst, I utilise the Science of Human Behaviour and Emotional Intelligence (EI) to transform my clients and/or audience into their best self. 

I focus my thought leadership on the future of EI through Speaking (corporate and keynote), Training, Coaching and Writing.
 
I have extensive background in the personal development industry, with experience in mental wellness and emotional fitness, corporate international marketing and education. 

I have worked with corporate and government-linked organisations, youths-at-risk, as well as humanitarian endeavours.
 
I hold a MSc. in Communication, Behaviour and Credibility Analysis from Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU), and a PGD in Psychotherapy & Counselling. 

I have trained and spoken at numerous corporate, government and non-profit organisations, conferences and forums on EI, Psychological First Aid (PFA), Employee Development, Leadership, Corporate Wellness, Mental Health and Emotional Fitness.

I proactively pursue lifelong learning to upgrade my qualifications and skill sets so as to keep abreast of new developments in human behaviour research, the training as well as education industry in order to give the best to my clients and audience.
 
In my personal capacity, I am an adventurer and investor, and I find joy in humanitarian endeavours, including an orphanage in Indonesia, and Kathmandu, Nepal. 

I also enjoy outdoor adventure like trekking, caving, kayaking, mountain climbing and backpacking. 

These have profound impact on my world views whilst keeping me grounded in nature as well as exercising compassion for the less fortunate, which add colour to my training, coaching and speaking.

Couple months back Coen Tan, CSP and I found out that we will be at the same place, same time, same length.. in another country. 

Talking about telepathy!

While we were both in the gorgeous city of Perth for a week for different missions, we were both on a learning journey.

And our journey involves learning about what feeds our passion, and the work that we do..

Human behaviour.

On my last day before I flew back to Singapore 🇸🇬 (Coen left a day after), we met for lunch. 

Farah, my teenage girl, had a conversation with Coen as well, which I find really heartwarming because I could see the mutual respect and curiosity they both had for each other’s thoughts and way of seeing things. 

And I’m especially happy that Farah had the golden opportunity to benefit from the foresight and wisdom of a well traveled, wholehearted, unique human being that is Coen. 

Till wee meet again, my friend.
