In 2016, I founded Askeladden Bemanning AS with a clear vision: to combine the adventurous spirit of the Norwegian fairytale character Askeladden with the flexibility and ambition of healthcare professionals seeking meaningful work across Norway. Our mission has been to offer nurses, doctors, and care workers flexible, well-paid assignments in scenic and rewarding locations.

I bootstrapped the company from the ground up, focusing first on building a strong operational platform. We implemented Recman as our core staffing system and Trinnvis as our quality and communication framework. This allowed us to ensure compliance, consistency, and high standards in all aspects of HR and candidate management.

Our initial focus was on sales and business development — establishing partnerships with Norwegian municipalities and building a trusted brand in the public healthcare sector. From 2016 to 2019, we steadily expanded our database of qualified healthcare professionals and secured key public sector clients.

In 2020, we were prepared to scale, but the pandemic required a pivot to resilience and survival mode. Between 2020–2022, we focused on maintaining operations under challenging conditions. Plans to resume scaling were temporarily postponed due to a serious illness in my family, but we relaunched our growth strategy in 2024.

That same year, we were approached by multiple staffing firms interested in collaboration, and an international company expressed interest in acquiring Askeladden Bemanning AS — a reflection of the strong foundation we had built.

Since inception, the company has generated approximately 35 million NOK in revenue, driven by clear leadership, strategic sales initiatives, scalable systems, and a strong commitment to compliance, HR excellence, and communication.
