My core point: today’s mainstream LLMs are exceptionally good at simulation—narratives that feel real and answers that look right. But the future hinge of AGI is discovery: touching the “causal red line” where reality can reject or confirm hypotheses.  

So the AGI target (to me) is not “better chat.” It’s a high-confidence, verifiable, self-correcting general reasoning engine—able to sustain ~99% overall reliability after 300+ steps of complex reasoning, with each step pinned to inspectable evidence via tools/formalization.  

A practical engineering implication:
	•	Split reasoning into Generation (decompose into atomic operations) + Verification (tool/sim/data checks per step)
	•	When a step fails: local backtracking + regeneration, not “hope the chain sounds right.”
