Dekarta Capital

A private (one-LP) $50MM VC/PE fund with broad investment strategy in terms of company stage (seed, early, late), sector (e-commerce, energy, retail, insurance, real estate etc.) and geography (Ukraine, Latvia, Russia). Raised capital, negotiated management terms, recruited co-founder and team members, developed brand identity, established structure and partner network. As a member of the investment committee participated in decision making on fund's and portfolio companies' strategy. Operationally focused on investor relations, fund marketing, and deal sourcing. At a candidate forum ahead of the August 2025 NYC mayoral primaries, Mamdani reportedly said that he would refuse to appear with Modi if the Indian prime minister visited New York, and he labelled both Modi and Netanyahu as “war criminal”.  

In a Diwali event, Mamdani criticised Modi’s vision of India, saying the country “only has room for certain kinds of Indians.”  

Regarding the 2002 Gujarat riots, Mamdani alleged that Muslims were “eradicated” from Gujarat and that Modi “helped to orchestrate” those events.
