Established the marketing and sales function in-house for this startup, and steered sweeping change management to reduce reliance on a 3rd party marketing services firm. Scope encompassed articulating the strategic vision, mapping quarterly and annual goals, and setting budgets for both departments. Defined the marketing process, re-envisioned digital content strategy, updated brand guidelines, and standardized lead generation and sales methodology.

► Doubled the marketing budget, building the business case and educating executive leadership on the percentage of the budget that comparable organizations direct toward marketing on an annual basis.

► Introduced always-on marketing campaigns, constituting a major divergence from AgileSherpas’ history of launching, then pausing short-term campaigns. Also instituted benchmarks and reporting to measure performance.

► Strategically directed the launch of the sales function, defined the roles, recruited sales specialists, and structured the sales process, playbook, and training.

Advanced to this role to take ownership of the Adobe vendor relationship, strengthen and solidify the relationship, and renew the 3-year contract. Scope encompassed defining the roadmap and governance approach covering all Adobe solutions in the tech stack, including Experience Manager (sites and assets), Target, Analytics, Audience Manager and Creative Cloud. 

► Led the $3.6M annual contract renewal with Adobe, totaling over $8.5M for the multi-year agreement.

► Analyzed the technology roadmap, expansion needs, and renewal requirements. 

► Managed a critical tech stack upgrade to ensure compliance with security regulations. Oversaw the migration to a new hosting location, and ensured on time completion to meet GDPR regulations.

Senior Manager, Marketing Technology

Provided strategic operational leadership across the Demand Center, and managed $30M+ ad spend in-house. Principally guided paid channel performance reporting, ROI tracking best practices, capacity measurement / resource justification, and finance workflows. Defined remit for new Activation Advisor team to ensure continual connection and strategic collaboration between business units and Demand Center.

► Hired a new activation advisor team to drive campaign effectiveness, by liaising between the Center of Excellence and the business units to ensure optimal delivery and effectiveness of full funnel campaigns.

► Advocated for a holistic approach, integrating digital tools into marketing and forging collaborations across web, content syndication, analytics, and marketing tech teams.

During this change period fueled by acquisition-driven growth and the merging together of historically separate business units, completed centralization of demand generation for global regions including Latin America, Asia Emerging and Australia / New Zealand.
► Captured $6.7M annual savings by transitioning search, social and display ad spend from agencies to in-house while achieving substantial lifts in performance across enterprise.

► Structured full-funnel marketing strategy that drove paid search demand by 86% and increased conversions by 40% for emerging Corporates business unit.

Strategically directed a digital transformation, launching the Demand Generation Center of Excellence and centralizing demand generation for all North American segments and regions.

► Migrated to a unified instance of Eloqua, and integrated Salesforce, both essential for the high performance marketing automation team.
