I'm Amar, CEO at My Money Matters, where our goal is simple: helping employees to make the most of their money with financial education, tools, coaching and easy to use digital services.

Early on, I was more entrepreneur than economist, with ventures ranging from selling stick insects as a child to diving deep into the world of startups.

This path led me to a revelation: financial education is the key to unlocking personal and professional freedom.

Taking redundancy from DSGi after 15 years, the next turning point was my move Konica Minolta - a new sector to me, manufacturing.  I was solely responsible for the people development strategy, the team and the creation of Simply Selling, Fantastic Leadership and the introduction of Talent Management to name three key projects.

I loved the development piece so having the opportunity to move into regional training which covered 26 stores was perfect.  I loved it!   5 restructures later I had grown a career focusing on behaviours and leadership development across the Dixons Stores group. I was leading succession pipeline programmes that supported the growth of the group footprint.  My part in this was to ensure that leaders were competent; reduce risk of stock loss business incompetency; look at people issues and improve customer service.

I was accountable for the development of the talent pipeline of managers across the group of retail. We had two programmes - one to support the transition of colleague to first line management and the second to support existing managers to step up to run their own store. In 2010 we were awarded by Derby University accreditation at level 4 (Certificate of Higher Education) and Level 6 (Advanced Diploma) for all delegates selected onto the programmes.

Having been approached by PC World (DSGi) , I started my first leadership role.  A great four years later results and the size of the team had soared.  I was spending all my time developing new Business Centre Leaders as the Leeds store became a centre of excellence in an aggressive expansion plan with 35+ new stores opening.

About me:
I possess a natural talent in building relationships with people.  I appreciate that doesn’t give me credibility to ‘practice my trade’ so I have underpinned what comes naturally, with skills and knowledge through professional education.

I am a qualified coach, Certificated in DISC, Qualified and experienced MBTi practitioner and also an accomplished and accredited Master Practitioner in NLP.  But what does that mean to people I work with?  It means, I help them:

•	Discover solutions to their challenges (and opportunities!), 
•	Become self-aware both of their strengths and identify areas of opportunity to develop and grow
•	Improve their interactions with others, and be more satisfied with their business relationships, through personality profiling 

During my working life, I’ve had great people around me who gave me the chance to pursue what I’m passionate about.  I practice what I preach and constantly seek advice, guidance and feedback from others so that I can continue to improve which ensures my clients get the best too.

One of my biggest motivators is working with individuals in 1-to-1 coaching sessions.  To hear the words from a coaching client “I can now do this” and see that person bloom as a result of our interventions is the best result for me.  I don’t DO anything TO anyone, I merely guide them on their own journey to their chosen destination using my 25+ years knowledge and skills.
