I'm Amar, CEO at My Money Matters, where our goal is simple: helping employees to make the most of their money with financial education, tools, coaching and easy to use digital services.

Early on, I was more entrepreneur than economist, with ventures ranging from selling stick insects as a child to diving deep into the world of startups.

This path led me to a revelation: financial education is the key to unlocking personal and professional freedom.

Consultancy - Sales and Marketing

I left Virgin Media O2 after 12 years to scale up my impact on workplace wellbeing and take on a new challenge on the provider side where I could combine my professional wellbeing experience with my sales and marketing skills to help providers develop their services and take them to market. During this time I worked on a freelance basis with a holistic wellbeing platform and a B2B mental health company - providing consultation and guidance on sales, marketing and product strategy. This quickly led to a permanent contract with MindBerry.

Freelance Consultant - Growth Strategy for B2B Wellbeing and Health-tech Sector 

Virgin Media O2

In addition to my substantive role at Virgin Media, I asked for the opportunity to design and implement a wellbeing strategy for the Indirect Sales Channel
•	End to end responsibility for strategy design, execution and evaluation
•	Led a team of 5 volunteer Wellbeing Managers and 12 Team Thrivers
•	Managed annual 30K budget 
•	Campaign creation and evaluation including employee surveys and absenteeism/attrition analysis to inform future activities
•	Chief editor of the 3rd Party wellbeing newsletter
•	Established network of wellbeing advocates (Zoom Champions) across the wider consumer sales organisation to generate new ideas and share best practice

Achievements:
-Nominated for Dragons Den award for my work supporting employee wellbeing
-Key elements of the strategy were adopted by the wider business of 12000 employees
-Improved employee wellbeing score to record levels (91%)

Wellbeing Lead

Senior Manager responsibility for sales and revenue growth across a diverse portfolio of 3rd Party partners, ranging from tech startups to SME's and FTSE 100 companies, using a mixture of digital, telesales, direct marketing and f2f channels to re-sell Virgin Media products to their customers.
•	End to end responsibility for major accounts category delivering 43K sales per annum and £22M in annual revenues
•	Recruitment, management and coaching of National Account Managers
•	As Senior PM I led from the front, owning the C-Suite relationships and strategic development of partner accounts whilst my team of Account Managers focused on tactical trading and execution
•	Dotted line management of 12 FTE Outbound/Inbound Telesales agents  
•	Cross-functional coordination with marketing, commercial planning, sales operations and outsource companies to execute tactical and strategic trading initiatives and campaigns
•	Leading commercial re-negotiations to achieve cost saving targets
•	Responsible for legal, commercial and compliance in a highly regulated industry.

Achievements 
Renegotiated 20% cost saving across targeted contracts on first pass

Senior National Account Manager / Team Manager 

In addition to my formal role I was appointed as the channel lead for the Power of One initiative - a consumer sales wide drive to break down sales silos, increase cross-functional collaboration and share best practice.
-Met with respective channel leads to discuss, prioritise, plan and execute opportunities

Power of One Lead 

Promoted to Senior Manager responsible for acquisition of net new resellers, affiliates and network expansion partners. Working primarily within the home mover sector, my role was split across direct acquisition of mid-market and enterprise channel partners and leadership of a team of Business Development Executives focused on acquisition of Letting and Estate Agents into the Virgin Media Home Connect scheme.

Indirect Channel – B2B2C
•	Supporting and leading the business development strategy, including market and competitor research to define targets and develop propositions that meet market needs
•	End to end management of the acquisition funnel:
•	Working cross functionally with marketing and outsource companies to co-ordinate high impact exhibition events and multi-media marketing and lead generation campaigns
•	Negotiating terms and working with legal to draft commercial contracts
•	Designing sales and compliance processes and working with sales operations to enable sales software’s 
•	Coordinating sales and compliance training, launch events and seamless handover to Account Management function

Network Expansion & Sales Penetration – B2B & B2C 
•	Led the creation of 28 FTE MDU Sales Team, including recruitment, sales process and reporting design
•	Provided strategic, commercial, negotiation and bid support to Network Expansion Team as they sought to target public and private sector freeholders and leaseholders
•	Overlayed bulk wayleave agreements with commercial trading and marketing agreements
•	Worked cross functionally to design and execute multi-channel go to market plans for built premises, including pre-nurture, DM, digital campaigns and face2face selling

Achievements 
Spearheaded the opening up of new market (Tenant Referencing), which has grown to become the highest volume vertical within Indirect Sales

Senior Business Development Manager

Promoted to my first leadership position. Responsible for end-to-end management and strategic direction of the Indirect Field Sales Channel. 
•	Reporting directly to the Field Sales Director, I managed the sales and KPI performance of 10 Territory Executives and 2 Key Account Executives managing over 1000 partner brands
•	90% of activity was focused on property sector partnerships comprising of professional and student letting agents, estate agents, property management companies, proptech and other industry suppliers  

Achievements
Implemented Student Pre-reg programme and grew student sales 230% YoY and overall sales 160% YoY

Promoted to responsibility for the Indirect Channels strategic accounts and high-ticket prospects

My academic background is Business Psychology and my first professional wellbeing role was at Virgin Media designing and implementing wellbeing programs that impacted over 12000 staff.  

I have since become a father and my driving purpose is to contribute to a future where employee wellbeing is at the heart of work. A world where my grown up children are proactively empowered by their employer to prevent ill health, but also rapidly supported to recover if ill health develops. This world doesn't yet exist for everyone.

For this reason, I left Virgin Media after 12 years to scale up my impact on workplace wellbeing and today I have the privilege of working for a company that shares my purpose and already supports over 68 million lives and delivers care to someone around the world every ten seconds!
