I often say that #failure, especially an intelligent one, can be a gift. And that's because failures can reveal crucial aspects of ourselves; namely, what we need to work on and insights about what we're truly passionate about. 

Failing a multivariable calculus exam in college was caused by my inadequate studying. But it forced me to ask myself hard questions about the work that I truly loved—and that which I was likely doing to please or impress others. 

That was a gift, even if it didn’t feel like one at the time.

Next time you experience failure, ask yourself: What does this teach me about myself? You might be surprised what you learn!

Developed and implemented a global colleague safety program throughout Pfizer. Key achievements include:
•	Provided global support to all worldwide locations (manufacturing, R&D, commercial),
•	Developed and implemented a safety culture across the company,
•	Implemented and managed programs for fleet safety and fire life safety,
•	Experience in the Americas, Europe, Middle East, Asia and Oceania.

Director, Global Occupational Health and Safety

Provided EHS (including process safety) leadership and direction to a major co-located manufacturing site and logistics center. Activities included ISO-14001 certification, developing an integrated resource conservation program.

Director Environment Health and Safety

Provided safety and health leadership to 3 co-located manufacturing facilities. Activities included OSHA VPP Star certification, process safety management, creating an actively caring safety culture and development of site EHS professionals and site leadership.

Director, Health and Safety

Searle, A Division of Monsanto

Provided EHS (including process safety) leadership and support to the manufacturing facility, both drug product and active pharmaceutical ingredient and additional support of major capital projects ($200 MM) involving up to 1000 contractors to update the facility.
