Ah yes, the classic rejection email. No details, no feedback—just a polite way of saying, we picked someone else, but good luck out there.

What makes it even more frustrating? When you know you’re capable. When you’ve put in the effort, crushed the interview, and still get brushed off because of arbitrary criteria—maybe a specific industry experience, the way you phrased something, or just a preference that wasn’t clearly outlined.

Hiring teams, let’s do better. If a candidate takes the time to prepare, show up, and engage, the least we can do is provide some insight. Even a quick note on what stood out in the chosen candidate or what to work on for future roles can make all the difference.
