Most companies are obsessed with the wrong metrics.

But they're missing the most important one:

Here's what I've learned:

Companies that build followers:
- Everything flows through the top
- Decisions get bottlenecked
- Growth hits a ceiling
- One person leaves, chaos follows

Companies that build leaders:
- Innovation happens everywhere
- Teams solve problems independently
- Growth becomes exponential
- The business runs without you

The math is simple:

1 leader who creates 1 follower = 2 people

1 leader who creates 1 leader = infinite potential

All because I focused on what they could become, not just what they’d done.

Almost everything you need to do your job can be learned.

If you have those, you can get hired anywhere, excel, and grow fast.

Experience is helpful. 

But potential?

That is priceless.

Most people burn out because they aim too far ahead.

They want the full transformation.

The big launch.

The perfect version.

And when that feels heavy, they stop.

But the truth is that consistency doesn’t come from ambition.

It comes from momentum.

From doing something small enough that you don’t negotiate with yourself.

It can be as simple as one post or one conversation.

Just one improvement you can actually finish today.

That’s the 1% that matters.

Not because it’s impressive.

But because it’s repeatable.

Day after day, those small reps stack up.

You don’t need a breakthrough.

You need a process you can stick with even on boring days.

That’s how consistency is earned.

Five years ago, Salomé joined the business as a VA.

At the time, we were doing less than $4,000 a month.

She was my second employee.

We didn’t have any systems.

Just ambition and a lot of uncertainty.

What most people don’t see is how much growth happens behind the scenes.

When was the last time you were actually present at dinner?

And no, you don't have to quit tomorrow. 

(Please don’t. Terrible mistake)

But if you want more mornings where you don't ask for permission.

You can't wait until you're burned out.

You start small.

One client. 
One system. 
One predictable stream.

And slowly, your time becomes yours again.

Unpopular opinion: Remote work is overrated.

Before you come at me, hear me out...

I run an online business.

We use Zoom and Slack.

And yes, 99% of meetings can be done remotely.

That’s not the debate.

The debate is this:

In 2026, are people really craving more efficiency?

Or are companies craving real culture?

Because efficiency is easy now.

AI, automation, and async communication are efficient.

But culture?

It’s built in the five minutes before the meeting starts.
 
The lunch after.
 
The random inside joke.

It’s built when you sit across from someone and actually feel their energy.

You see their tonality, their mannerisms, and how they react under pressure.

I’ve never met a client or partner in person and felt the relationship weaken.

It always deepens.

Start online. That’s fine.

But if you’re building something meaningful, don’t confuse efficiency with connection.

Your LinkedIn profile is making you lose clients right now.

And you have no idea it's happening.

Here's what I mean:

Someone reads your post. 
Likes it. 
Clicks your name.

Then nothing happens.

Why?

Because in 2026, people don't automatically trust people just because they’re posting something about careers.

So people need to validate that you're legitimate.

And your profile is your proof.

And most coaches completely miss this.

They optimize for aesthetics when they should optimize for belief.

Unclear banner? 
Lost in 3 seconds.

Headline about you instead of them? 
They scroll.

About section that reads like a resume? 
Gone.

So, here's what actually works:

✅Headline 
✅About 
✅Featured 
✅Experience 
✅Recommendations

Stop treating your profile like a summary of your past.

Start treating it like a bridge to your next client.

How to Optimize Your LinkedIn Profile

I’ve had more “failures” than successes in my entrepreneurial journey.

But most people only see you when things are working.

They don’t see the years before that.

Here’s what my journey actually looks like.

2000: Sold water bottles.

2006: Sold shoes, Universal tickets, and Lacoste polos.

2011: Started a company called U Bike, placed 3rd in a business plan competition, but couldn’t raise funding. 

So I took a job at PepsiCo.

2018: Started a hat company. Invested my entire life savings at the time ($5,000.) Only sold about half.

Started a marketing company. My business partner left unexpectedly.

Left my corporate job to become a public speaker.

2019: Wrote a book because I thought I needed one to land more speaking gigs.

Invested my last $20,000 from my 401k to speak at a conference.

Then COVID hit and public speaking disappeared overnight.

2020: Turned the book into an online course. Pivoted into career coaching full-time.

That’s when things started to click.

2022: Built a seven-figure career coaching business.

2023: Immigration policy changes hit our niche hard. Revenue became unstable. Took an $88,000 loan to make payroll.

Pivoted into business coaching.

2025: Partnered with top clients. Started investing in portfolio companies.

Looking at it from the outside, it may seem inconsistent.

From the inside, it was progression.

Entrepreneurship isn’t about avoiding failure.

It’s about extracting the lesson before moving forward.

That’s why I genuinely love mentoring entrepreneurs.

I’ve seen what it feels like when things are working.

And I’ve felt what it’s like when they’re not.

There’s nothing more rewarding than helping someone navigate both.

Because in this journey, we either win or we learn.

But we never lose.

If you’re a career coach, odds are your LinkedIn profile isn't converting into clients.

Not because you're not posting enough.

But because your content strategy is broken.

Most coaches post whatever feels right that day.

A career tip on Monday.

A personal story on Wednesday.

Maybe a client win on Friday.

No structure, strategy, or system.

And then they wonder why their profile gets views but no clients.

So Daniel, what should you do about this?

Your content needs to do three specific jobs in sequence.

Miss one, and the entire funnel breaks.

Job #1: Viral Posts (TOF)

Broad, relatable content that gets you discovered by new people.

These posts speak beyond your niche to maximize reach.

Job #2: Educational Posts (MOF)

Dense, valuable content that proves you know what you're talking about.

These build credibility with your new followers.

Job #3: CTA Posts (BOF)

Testimonials, client wins, and clear invitations to take the next step.

These convert interest into conversations and clients.

If you only post viral content → audience that scrolls but never buys

If you only post educational content → stay invisible to new people

If you never post CTAs → all that momentum evaporates

The coaches converting consistently balance all three intentionally.

The 3 Types of LinkedIn Content That Attract Clients

Kindergarten kids vs MBA students.

Same challenge: build the tallest spaghetti tower.

The MBAs did what you’d expect.

They planned, assigned roles, and discussed strategy.

The kindergarteners just started building.

It fell, they adjusted, and built again.

They won.

That story stuck with me.

Because for a long time, I was quietly insecure about something.

My team is in Colombia.

Mid-20s.
No Ivy League degrees.
Operating from what most people would call a third-world country.

On paper, it doesn’t look impressive.

And early on, I thought that mattered.

I thought pedigree created trust.

I thought geography signaled quality.

Then reality corrected me.

In 8 years of business, not one client has complained about the quality of our work.

Not one.

Because what we may lack in prestige, we make up for in culture.

And here’s when it really clicked for me.

My business partners started flying to Colombia.

Not out of obligation.

Out of respect.

Because once you see the standard up close, you understand it’s not about where someone is from.

It’s about how they show up.

Do you marry someone on the first date?

Of course not.

But that’s exactly how most coaches try to sell.

One post. One DM. One call.

And they expect someone to invest $3K, $5K, $10K.

That’s not how trust works.

Google studied buying behavior across millions of data points.

Their conclusion?

It takes:

7 hours of engagement.
11 touchpoints.
4 different platforms.

Before a stranger becomes a client.

Yet most career coaches are posting daily and hoping visibility alone will convert.

It won’t.

Because attention is not belief.

And belief is what sells high-ticket coaching.

This is where the Domino Effect comes in.

Your content is just the first domino.

It gets someone to spend seconds with you.

Then DMs move it to minutes.

Long-form content like masterclasses or YouTube moves it to hours.

Then (and only then) a sales conversation make sense.

Every step isn’t meant to close.

It’s meant to move them forward.

And most coaches skip steps, then wonder why leads never convert.

Not that you do everything yourself and burn out.

But that execution doesn't require a full team anymore.

And don't get me wrong, this doesn't mean you won't make mistakes.

I'm a firm believer you still need to learn from someone who's already done it.

Someone who can help you avoid the expensive detours.

But the execution part? Easier now than ever.
