30 Senja customers churn every week

And as our customer base grows, that numbers grows

So every day it gets harder and harder to grow the business

Especially as sign ups have been flat for over a year

This is a typical SaaS plateau and will kill my plans to grow Senja to $2,000,000 ARR

So what am I doing?

CHURN
We're in the prosumer space and our churn is around 5.5%.

The goal is to get this down to 4% and then 3%.

This is mainly through understanding why customers churn and addressing the issues.

Some things cannot be addressed (like the customer going out of business)

But others can, through changing our product features, and customer education (not getting to success), and our marketing (sign ups from bad fit customers)

ACTIVATION BASICS
Ensuring that the majority of sign ups get to success FAST

This requires re-working our onboarding to help people collect and share their first proof in hours, not days

EXPANSION REVENUE
We want to make more money from people who love what we do by offering new features that meet their needs

The customer will be able to toggle on new features for $10-$20 a month and help us increase revenue through expansion

I have a list of ideas here, and the new engineer is going to start implementing them soon

I am also looking for a product engineer to help ship more features more quickly, especially new marketing assets in the Studio

TOP OF FUNNEL
Experiment experiment experiment!!!

New ICPs, new positioning, new funnels, new marketing channels, new pricing and offers

I am hiring my first growth marketer to run 30 meaningful growth experiments a year, and scale the winners

Everything is up for grabs - if it works (and it's ethical) we'll do it

We have an incredible product and I am open to any form of distribution that works

If I discover that German clowns really value social proof, we'll market to them and make $$$

I will sleep better knowing experiments are being run and understand that most will fail.

I always hire makers with their own projects.

They have an owner mindset and are awesome to work with.

But they don't stay long and struggle to be all-in.

My new engineer joined 2 months ago and has already done incredible things.

But he can't shake the feeling that he'd be happier working on his own project.

So he's leaving.

And I am continuing to search for an engineer that can help take Senja from $1,000,000 to $2,000,000 ARR
