ChatGPT ads are coming, and they won’t work like Google or Meta. Here’s how they work.

OpenAI is preparing to introduce native ads inside ChatGPT.
 This matters because it changes how people will discover, compare, and choose businesses online.

Traditionally, the sequence looks like this:
Search → Browse → Compare → Click → Convert

With ChatGPT, the sequence becomes much shorter:
Ask → Recommendation → Action

And the questions users ask are far more explicit than keyword searches:
“Who should I hire for…?”
 “Which service is best for…?”
 “What’s the most reliable option for…?”

This is higher-quality intent than “best X near me” … and that’s what makes this interesting.

How It Works
Instead of bidding on keywords, ads will be matched to natural-language intent inside conversations.

OpenAI has hinted at three structural differences vs Google/Meta:

1. Intent from context
Recommendations are driven by conversations, not just queries or interests.

2. Relevance over pure budget
Early documentation suggests the “best answer” matters as much as the highest bid.

3. In-line conversion
The answer itself can act as the landing page, reducing the need for funnels or retargeting.

If implemented well, this compression should reduce friction and improve efficiency - especially for businesses with clear offers.

What to Expect First
Like every new ad surface, three things typically happen:

1. Low competition
Early advertisers face minimal auction pressure.

2. Favourable economics
CPC/CPA tends to be lowest before the market saturates (Google ~2007, 

3. Meta ~2012, TikTok ~2020).
Fast learning curves

The platform iterates quickly once real spend enters.
The learning advantage compounds for brands who move early - not because they’re smarter, but because they have real data before everyone else.

Portuguese-Speaking Google and Meta Ads Contractor

Overview
We are looking for an experienced Portuguese-speaking performance marketer to support the delivery of a paid media contract. This is a hands-on contractor role focused on execution, optimisation, and disciplined account management.
You will work alongside a senior strategist and operate within an established framework. The focus is on intent, efficiency, and clean data rather than surface-level optimisation.

Responsibilities:

Google Ads:
- Day-to-day management of Search and Performance Max campaigns
- Search term analysis and negative keyword management
- Budget pacing and efficiency control
- Conversion tracking checks and basic diagnostics
- Identification of wasted spend and scalable opportunity

Meta Ads:
- Campaign and ad set optimisation
- Creative performance analysis with frequency awareness
- Audience signal quality checks
- Budget allocation based on performance trends
- Structured feedback to support creative testing

Cross-channel:
- Work confidently with Portuguese-language ad copy and keyword intent
- Maintain clean naming conventions and account structure
- Flag tracking or data issues early
- Provide short, clear performance summaries when required
- Execute changes accurately and on time

Required Experience
- Proven experience managing Google Ads and Meta Ads accounts
- Fluent or native Portuguese. Written and spoken
- Strong working English. Written and spoken
- Experience managing performance-driven lead generation or ecommerce accounts
- Comfortable operating within structured accounts and defined processes
- Strong understanding of search intent and efficiency drivers

Advantageous Experience
- Experience working with health and fitness brands
- Understanding of regulated or compliance-aware verticals
- Ability to work in additional European languages beyond Portuguese and 
English
- Experience working with European or UK-based clients
- Familiarity with GA4 and basic conversion diagnostics
- Exposure to CRM or offline conversion tracking

Working Arrangement
Contractor basis
Remote
Flexible hours, with reliable overlap during UK working hours
Paid on an agreed monthly or day-rate basis depending on scope

How Success Is Measured
- Account structure and hygiene remain clean
- Wasted spend is actively reduced
- Performance issues are identified early
- Changes are executed accurately and on time
- Communication is clear, concise, and commercially relevant

Most Google Ads accounts do not struggle because of bidding. They struggle because of structure. When structure is unclear, reporting becomes noisy and optimisation slows down. Search terms drift.
