Yesterday's Leadership Tulsa LT360 session took us on an eye-opening tour of West Tulsa — a part of our city with deep history, resilience, and extraordinary organizations doing life-changing work.

We began at Goodwill Industries, where we learned how their team is helping individuals build skills, secure employment, and move toward economic mobility. The scale of their impact across our region is truly impressive.

Ken Busby from the Route 66 Alliance walked us through the history and cultural legacy of Route 66. His passion for preserving Tulsa’s role in this American icon was inspiring.

At the Zarrow Regional Library, Teresa Washington Runnels shared the important work of the American Indian Resource Center. Their dedication to preserving and elevating Indigenous stories and culture is something every Tulsan should experience.

We then spent time at The Spring. Their campus is absolutely beautiful — but what's even more powerful is their mission.

The Spring is a faith-based organization serving domestic violence survivors with compassion, dignity, and deep care. Hearing how they walk with families through the hardest moments of their lives was both heartbreaking and incredibly inspiring. The work they’re doing is truly impactful.

We closed the day with some amazing food at Billy Ray’s BBQ. It was incredible!

What I love most about days like this is the reminder of how special Tulsa really is. A city full of people and organizations quietly doing the work that strengthens families, restores hope, and builds a better future for our community.

Grateful to Leadership Tulsa for creating these opportunities to learn, connect, and expand our understanding of the city we serve.

Every first Monday of the month we host a gathering for men to get together and connect over life and faith. We call it the Tulsa God Squad Monthly Meetup.

Last night was one to remember. A group of men carving out time to eat, talk, play games, and pray for one another — that’s the kind of intentional community that strengthens our walk and sharpens our character.
