Elon & Nikhil’s podcast was a huge missed opportunity, and you can disagree as much as you want 🤷‍♂️

The first time I saw Elon Musk on a podcast, it was 2018 and I was just mesmerised by the stuff he was building.

Then he returned in 2020, and since then he has done multiple podcasts across world and I have loved almost all of them until this Nikhil’s one.

Now there was nothing wrong with the host or guest in my opinion; both have been delivering good podcasts.

But, there was misalignment between the ideas, thoughts and vision of the two.

Nikhil was more focused w.r.t. Indian lens whereas Elon was least interested in the topics on the table.

Look at Elon’s profile for once, Tesla, xAI, SpaceX, X (Twitter), Starlink, Neuralink.

There is a whole generational gap (in terms of technology) between the two entrepreneurs.

Elon needed a much more technology oriented conversation, less about business and more about innovation.

Well, it’s a personal opinion but this podcast could have been 10x better if there were better questions on the table.

It was difficult for me to find utility of Perplexity in the suite of AI tools 🤷‍♂️

Now, they have come up with amazing features, ideas, marketing strategies and tbh a pretty good application.

But what misses the mark for me is, 

𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐦𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐚 𝐜𝐚𝐬𝐮𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 - 
I’ll utilise Google’s AI mode (already built in) or just use Grok

𝐈𝐟 𝐈 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐝𝐨 𝐝𝐞𝐞𝐩 𝐝𝐢𝐬𝐜𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 - I’ll utilise Gemini 3/ChatGPT 5.1/Claude Opus etc.

The same models btw which power Perplexity.

Where does Perplexity come into picture ?
Is it really going to compete with original LLMs or continue to be a wrapper ?

Nobody wants an extra app on their phone. 
If existing tools provide me both Casual and exhaustive conversations , why would Perplexity take the virtual real estate ?

Mathematics is one of the most beautiful things ever and the 𝐄𝐮𝐥𝐞𝐫’𝐬 𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐲 is a big proof of it.

It links algebra, geometry, and complex numbers in a single line.
5 fundamental constants forming a perfect balance. 

And in general, Mathematics is beautiful because it is the meeting point between logic and mystery. 

It shows us that the world isn’t random, it’s patterned, structured, and deeply connected. 

The more we understand it, the more we realize we’re not inventing truth, but uncovering it now.

Current age of AI is the biggest example which is built upon these complex mathematical equations.

How mathematics has led to performance of Artificial intelligence with human like capabilities.

Wanted to write in deep about this but it exceeds the capacity for a LinkedIn post.
