The idea to track the personal data of athletes and translate them into prints came to me as  a result of participation in the quantified running self-movement in San Francisco. As the main goal was to add more value to clothing pieces, supported by a talented team, I found the way how to transfer data into unique clothing designs.
That resulted in founding yooneeque, the first sports label that deployed artificial intelligence to create individual designs from personal training data. Two main goals were achieved: the
The time-consuming design process of an individual print is reduced to just one click and sportswear was personalized. 
We received a positive response from the market, and I consider it as the first big success on the way to discover a real big thing in deep-tech - GANs.

NOETIA 

Together with Rio Sierra  I established a project NOETIA, which brought  Berlin’s stories and tales back to life. NOETIA’ visionary was based on digital prints which we developed and created in collaboration with my children and further expanded upon with methods of Generative Design.

As a chief designer. I was engaged in all stages of the research and development process, collection production, marketing, and sales. Despite all the energy and effort, we put into collection creation, the process was time-consuming, non-efficient, and simply costly. It made me think about a solution that simplifies the design process and shows the real value of clothing by the creation of personalized designs.

NOETIA AMMARELL PODIUM // NOUS CONFERENCE

Together with  Laura Tihon and Elisa-Josephine Ammarell  we established a panel discussion in frames of Berlin  Fashion Week. That was a fun and insightful time when we discussed emerging topics in the fashion industry, the way how it can become more efficient and sustainable. Back in 2016, the digitization of the fashion industry was in its conception, the need for more efficient designs was there, but still were looking for the solution.

ONIK Collective

ONIK represents a collective of 8 individual fashion designers. These designers cooperate in a new and inventive structure, enabling them to grow their own label as well as to participate in the collective's development. Through this collaboration, ONIK works on events and projects, which lead to a creative freedom in evolving their individual fashion brands.

ONIK explores new ideas for a social solidarity. The collective promotes an interdisciplinary exchange between the art, design, textile and fashion scene. The goal being, to find and share solutions for new developments and contemporary issues within the creative world. To promote and conceptualize this exchange ONIK puts on various events as exhibitions, fashion shows, panel discussions and workshops throughout the year.

My wake-up call came after struggling in the fashion industry for over ten years: During this time, I realized that my work as a designer was very inefficient and that designs often overlook the consumer. This leads to an oversupply that ends up in the garbage - which is neither economically good for companies, nor healthy for the environment. The waste of time, money and resources annoyed me beyond measure. I wanted to find a different - a "greener" - solution, and after extensive research into the impact of neural networks on the fashion industry, I came up with the idea of our B2B SaaS venture yoona.ai.

Today, yoona.ai is the new global market leader for the digitalization of design processes. We help companies save up to 80% of time in their design and collection development phase. They can design closer to trends and customers, therefore reducing costs and avoiding throwaway products or overproduction. Users can create their design, convert it into 3D images and project it with augmented reality. yoona.ai finally manages to combine the economic and sustainability goals of the fashion industry.
