Streamlining Month-End, One Close at a Time

The LinkedIn algorithm never ceases to confuse me.

This comment on Jack Frimston's post got more impressions than my last 2 posts combined.

I spent minutes crafting those posts...MINUTES!

The comment took 10 seconds.

I don't know what this means but I'm pretty sure the lesson is to stop trying.

I spent over 12 hours at the movie theaters this weekend. 🤯

You may say, that’s crazy, and I will counter with, yes but how often will I have the opportunity to eat my bodyweight in popcorn 3 days in a row?

TLDR: My big plans for the weekend were watching all the 3 lord of the rings movies which were re-released in theaters.

After re-watching all three movies, I can confidently say those movies are timeless. 

From the acting to the story, to the effects, it all holds up and each movie has a touching intro from Peter Jackson himself.

It also got me thinking about how great of an SDR Gollum would be, if he approached going after meetings with a small fraction of his passion for the ring, he would crush his quota every month, guaranteed.

In all seriousness it was incredibly fun and if you haven’t caught a matinee recently, I highly recommend it.

I gave up YouTube in 2025.

Don’t get me wrong, I love YouTube, but it just felt like a time suck that wasn’t serving me anymore.

As a result, I wound up doing different things in my free time, like:

-Getting back into running 🏃
-Starting a podcast 🎙️
-Vibe coding (my vibes are infinitely better than my coding skills) ⌨️

Ultimately, I got bored more, which caused me to try things I haven’t done before and push myself in ways I haven’t.

This year I am giving up 2 things which I also love:

-Sour candy 🍋
-Energy drinks 🔋

Not all heroes wear capes, some just skip putting gummies in their cart at the grocery store.
