A few learnings that I thought would be useful to share:

💡 Two words that crush objections: "Even if"

Formula: [Desirable outcome] even if [objection]

Example:  

“Sell more online—even if you haven’t written a word since high school.”


💡 The You Rule:

Your copy isn’t about you. It’s about your audience.

Rewrite sentences to start with “You” or “Your.”

Example:

 ❌ “We offer virtual checkups.”

 ✅ “You can book a free 5-min virtual checkup today.”

 Small tweak. Big relevance.


💡 The PAS Framework 

Want copy that converts? Start with pain.

PAS = Problem → Agitation → Solution.

Example: 

For a vet clinic:

 ❌ “Book a checkup today.”

 ✅   

“Tired of rushed, impersonal vet visits? 
Waiting for hours only to see a stranger? 
Try Happy Pets—where everyone knows your pet’s name.”

✨  copywriting = science + empathy

I took Joanna Wiebe's course, "Conversion Copywriting" on LinkedIn recently. 

Her three-step process for writing copy that converts is:

1️⃣ Research & Discovery: Dig into VOC (voice of customer) data.

2️⃣ Wireframe & Write: Copy leads design.

3️⃣ Validate & Experiment: Test before scaling.


Our customers are better copywriters than us. 

Instead of brainstorming clever headlines, we should mine VOC data—the actual words customers use when they talk about their problems, desires, and decisions.

Why? 

Because VOC reveals:

 ✅ What motivates people to buy

 ✅ What objections stop them

 ✅ What language feels authentic (and converts)


How to collect VOC:

✅ Surveys: Ask “What was going on in your life that brought you here today?”

✅Customer interviews: 5–7 calls can uncover gold.

✅Review mining: Search Amazon/Yelp reviews for products like yours. Look for phrases like “tired of…” or “finally found…”

✅Sales call recordings: Listen for patterns in objections and excitement.


So your next winning headline is probably hiding in a customer review, not in your brainstorm doc.

✨ Stop guessing. Start listening.

Joanna Wiebe shared an anecdote about testing headlines in her LinkedIn Learning course, "Conversion Copywriting."

She ran a split test for a rehab center homepage. 

The control headline: “Your addiction ends here.”

Her team tested three more:

 ✔ A stat about recovery

 ✔ A testimonial

 ✔ And one line pulled straight from an Amazon book review: “If you think you need rehab, you do.”

Guess which one crushed it?

 That last one—written by a customer, not a copywriter.

 Result: 400% more clicks.

Why did it win? 

Because it spoke in the raw, real language prospects actually use when they’re in pain and searching for help. That’s the magic of Voice of Customer (VOC).

✨ Moral of the story: 

Stop guessing what sounds good. Start listening to what customers say. 

Your next high-converting headline might already be out there—in a review, a survey, or a sales call.
