He claims when people come into a big chunk of money, their first thought is:

- fast cars
- bigger house
- designer clothes

I'd go a different route, if I had an extra $100K lying around I'd probably eat more caviar. More caviar and more seafood.

There's a trap that most tech founders fall into between $40K and $800K MMR.

I call it the "middle class" of founders.

- Below $40K, you can live well as an “indie hacker.” 
- Above $800K, it gets easier. Better valuations. More profit. Less stress.

When you're in between, it's brutal.

I worked with a founder at $2M/year who couldn't guarantee payroll every single month.

Every month was a reset:

Find a way to hit revenue → Deliver for clients → Put out fires → Start over

How we stopped the cycle:

1. TEAM CONDITIONING
Weekly meetings to reframe reality. When you're that exhausted, your mind sees repetitiveness. We helped the team stay hungry for problems.

2. THINK BIGGER
The biggest problem: Delivery.  We found someone better than her at solving client issues. That hire freed up her mental load.

3. NOT A BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY
We saved hiring a CEO, COO and CFO for later. Right now she really just needs:

- Lower costs
- Fewer people
- Cash coming in consistently

14 months later? $10M.

I was on a sales call yesterday and could tell the founder had subconsciously capped themselves.

Most founders avoid scaling because they know:

I find it comical that I run a company 100% remote. 

Me 15 years ago would be SHOCKED.

I used to scale companies in person. It was my strong suit. I went to as many events and in-person meetings as possible. And it worked!

Then... as the team grew and my California office expense was going up while the profit was going down, I had to majorly pivot.

Let me tell you, closing on zoom did not come naturally. (I can't be alone in this)

I couldn't buy the idea that people could build trust with me through a computer screen. 

Finally my business coach asked: "Why do you think that?"

I didn't have an answer.

I replaced the belief. Started closing at 80%.

I've learned that most sales problems are internal. It's a mindset.

We doubled our booked calls after I started focusing on me and my team's personal brand.

Prospects already recognize my name. They've read the insights. Trust is built before I send the first message.

- Meditate
- Lifting 
- Bike

Funny Story. A client asked me how we came up with “Focused Founder.”

When I started, I was on this mission to help UN-focused founders.

Before focused founder I advised some founders that were all over the place.

I learned that focus isn’t something you just pick up. It’s a part of who you are.

So I asked myself a better question:

“What if I just worked with founders who were ALREADY focused?” 

Such a simple concept but it changed the trajectory of this business.

Today the meaning has evolved. I used to believe it was the founders who were nose deep in work and learning. but focus literally means Hearth.

FOCUS literally means HEARTH. The center point. The place everyone gathers around and focuses on. 

And that's exactly what founders need. A purpose. Something to rally their team around. 

When you do that correctly and focus on your mission and values, your mission becomes reality much faster.

I was just telling a buddy about one of our fastest growing founders (Jan Rippingale, CEO of BluBanyan) 

She was in the mid-seven figures (growing fast, but drowning).

I see founders sell their companies for $50K when they could have stuck it out and sold for MILLIONS.

Being a founder is INTENSE. Most want to quit 10-30% of the time.

My advice?

Have those feelings on a beach. Take 7 days off with NO laptop.

When you're on the beach thinking "I want to quit," you realize:

"I'm not even at work. Why am I thinking about this?"

You can assess the thought clearly.

You’ll likely realize you just needed space to: 

- regulate
- process those feelings
- remember why you love what you do and where you’re going.

Be the founder who takes care of themselves. The one who pushes through the trenches and gets to see their business thrive.

Unpopular opinion:

You don't need a new strategy to hit $10M.

You need to STOP abandoning the one that's already working.

What's something you've overthought in your business that turned out to be simpler than you made it?

A tech startup founder just got started with us. He asked how to build a “winning team”. 

Here’s step one. 

At least once a month, you have to look at the entire month and ask:

- How many demos did we run?
- How many sales did we close?
- How many leads did we generate?
- How far were we from what we projected?

Then we have to go BEYOND the numbers.

The REALLY important question: What happened throughout the month?

- Were you going to too many conferences?
- Did you have to fix product stuff?
- Did personal problems come up?

You need to identify what's stopping you. Then take that stuff off your plate.

Founders who make it to $10M+ are often highly creative people. The definition of “creative” in this case is probably NOT what you’re thinking.

The best form of creativity is actually a very functional type of person that follows frameworks and models.

Even the best artists follow frameworks. They learn:

- Composition
- Color theory
- Brush techniques

Business growth is the same. There’s no reason to start from scratch. 

Here's your framework:

- Cold outreach
- Partnerships
- Content
- SEO
- Ads

Then make micro-adjustments based on YOUR market. 

That’s the creativity.

I met a guy in Vancouver years ago.

He was past $1M. Needed to get to $10M.

$10M is actually simple. It's the same formula for everyone:

1. You already have a product that works
2. Position it so the market understands what you do/knows they need it
3. Get in front of as many people as possible
4. Deliver more customer outcomes for less money over time

Here's why this founder was stuck:

He said: "I can't sleep. All I think about is how am I going to do this?"

He was SO stuck in the "how" that he couldn't hear anything I said.

"I gotta figure it out. I gotta figure it out."

Analysis paralysis. Complete mental loop.

I see founders do this often. They overcomplicate it.

"What if I did this funnel?"
"What if I tried that channel?"
"What if I rebuilt the product?"

It's funny, but if you're stuck in this loop, humor usually gets you out.

I asked him: "What's your favorite way to waste time?"

He looked confused. "What?"

"Like, when you're procrastinating. What do you do?"

"I... I don't know. Watch YouTube videos about productivity?"

"So you're watching videos about how to be productive instead of being productive?"

He laughed. First time in our conversation. That laugh broke the pattern.

When founders get too intense about the outcome, they disconnect from reality. They stop seeing what's right in front of them.

My secret to helping founders in crisis:

Help them relax.

Really, its that simple but also so powerful.

When a company is in trouble it's important for the founder to:

- slow down
- lower the intensity
- change their cadence

Something unexpected happens. 

They start to:

- raise unexpected capital.
- pull out X-factor solutions.
- follow their intuition instead of their anxiety.
- close a massive deal they never would have seen under pressure.

First question I ask every new client:

"What's costing you money that could be making you money?"

Every company has at least one.

Most common example: Support.

As you scale, support costs go up. Margins get squeezed. Founders panic.

The fix?

Price support based on urgency.

- Low urgency client? Weekly check-ins. Lower price point.
- High urgency client? 24/7 access. Premium price.

Support goes from an expense to a profit center.

Same team. Same infrastructure.

Just different pricing logic.

I was just golfing with some founders and it dawned on me, most businesses don’t have this kind of Client/CEO relationship.

But how cool that we do!

I vet every founder before accepting them, so we have a lot in common (only accept ~4%)

We HAVE to be particular. 

We have to have founders in a community of like-minded, hard working, family forward individuals for this to work.

Some things I vet for:

- Are they coachable? 
- Are they here to just take? Or will they also give?
- Do they know where they are/where they're going? Are there blocks? 
- Do they know what the decision making processes are inside their business? 
- Do they know how much it'll cost if they DON’T take action in a certain direction?
- How are they with finances? Do they have trauma around finances/does that need to be addressed? 
- How are they with time? Can they look long-term and short-term consistently, or are they kind of in one of those?

If they don't meet the mark, are they able to change quickly?

I'm really proud of the success we have and it's greatly because of the community we've fostered.

One of our founders went from $8K/month to $1M ARR in 4 months.

Here's what moved the needle:

1. Went after larger contracts
2. Outbound at scale (ramped up emails from 200 daily to 2000+)
3. Cash flow structure (shape contracts so money comes in faster)

Toyota just deployed humanoid robots on its factory floor — and the implications go well beyond one company.
 
The robot is called Digit, built by Agility Robotics. After a successful pilot at Toyota's largest plant outside Japan, they've moved to full deployment.
 
The use case: repetitive, physically demanding roles on production lines that are genuinely difficult to hire for and keep filled.
 
What makes Toyota's move significant is who they are. This is a company that built the Toyota Production System — one of the most studied and replicated frameworks in business history.
 
When they deploy, it's because the technology has earned its place on the floor.
 
The question worth asking: which industries face the same labor and repeatability challenges as automotive and logistics — and how far behind are they?

.BMW Group is beginning to integrate humanoid robots into its manufacturing operations.
 
At the company’s Leipzig facility, Hexagon’s AEON robot will assist with battery and component production. This follows a U.S. pilot where a humanoid robot supported production tied to more than 30,000 BMW X3 vehicles in ten months.
 
This move reflects a broader trend across the automotive industry. Companies like Tesla, Hyundai, and Mercedes are all exploring humanoid robotics inside factories.
 
The debate today is no longer about whether humanoids can move around a factory floor, it’s about economics.
 
Can they deliver enough productivity to justify the cost?
