Last week I met up with my friend Lisa, someone I originally met right here on LinkedIn, to map out our goals and intentions for 2026.

And honestly? It reminded me just how much I need community in this solopreneur life.

Solopreneurship is exciting and meaningful…but it can also be really lonely.

You’re the strategist, the operator, the visionary, the doer, all in one, and it’s easy to feel like you’re building in a vacuum.

Sitting down with someone who truly gets it… someone who understands the pressure, the uncertainty, the creativity, and the constant recalibration… felt grounding in a way I didn’t realize I needed.

It was a reminder that even though we’re “solo,” we’re not meant to build alone.
And funny enough?
 
LinkedIn has become the place where I’ve found some of the most supportive, inspiring, and aligned people in my business life...people who push me, challenge me, and help me think bigger.

Here’s to more conversations like that, more connection, and more clarity as we head toward 2026.

I was too busy chasing the next accomplishment like it was my job.

But here’s the thing:
You can’t define “enough” without defining your non-negotiables.

If you’re working full-time and only get 2 hours with your kids during the week…
Is that enough?

Maybe.
But only if you protect it.
Only if you’re present.
Only if it reflects what actually matters to you.

Otherwise it just becomes another checkbox on the calendar.

So I’ve started asking myself:
What am I working toward?
What’s enough for this season?
And what am I not willing to sacrifice to get there?

It’s a confronting set of questions.
But honestly?
It’s shifting everything.

Two phrases have been whispering to me lately:
“Playing big”… and “being enough.”

On the surface, they feel like opposites.
One is expansive.
The other is grounding.

But the more I sit with them, the more I’m realizing they’re actually partners.

Because playing big isn’t about louder goals or bigger stages or pushing harder.
It’s about noticing the quiet, invisible forces that hold you back from what you truly want (fear, judgment, scarcity, the stories that make you shrink instead of stretch).

And being enough isn’t about settling.
It’s the absence of those forces that chase you from behind (perfectionism, validation-seeking, the belief that your worth is tied to output).

Both ask the same thing of you:
Get quiet. Listen inward. Trust what’s true for you.

Playing big and being enough can coexist beautifully when they’re rooted in the same place ...your inner voice.

One expands you.
One anchors you.
And together, they guide you toward a life, and business, that feels aligned, fulfilling, and deeply your own.

And as we slow down a bit this Thanksgiving week, I’m sitting with this tension in a new way...grateful for how far I’ve come, and clear that the next version of me still deserves space to grow.

We talk a lot about “showing up with more confidence.”
But here’s what I’ve learned… you can’t fake the real kind.

For years, I tried.

I thought confidence meant:
• standing a little taller
• speaking a little louder
• convincing myself I was “ready”
• pushing down every doubt so no one would see the wobble

But if I’m honest?
That version of confidence came from ego.
From wanting to prove myself.
From needing external validation to feel steady.

It wasn’t until I started actually knowing myself that confidence finally felt real.

Not the flashy kind.
Not the motivational-poster kind.
The quiet, grounded, unshakeable kind.

The kind that says:
“I know who I am. I know how I operate. I trust myself.”

And here’s what it took (spoiler: it wasn’t another course or productivity hack):

1. Mapping my energy
Noticing when I’m energized, when I’m drained, and WHY.
And finally accepting that nothing is wrong with me when my energy dips—it’s just information.

2. Tracking my emotions
Actually sitting with frustration, anger, joy… long enough to understand the pattern behind it.
(Shockingly, “everyone else is the problem” was not the real answer.)

3. Getting curious about my strengths + weaknesses
Not judging them.
Not trying to fix them immediately.
Just understanding them.

Because when you understand yourself, you stop performing confidence…
and start embodying it.

If you’re in a season of trying to “show up stronger”… maybe the real work isn’t projecting confidence outward.
Maybe it’s building it inward.

I’ve always been someone who thinks aspirationally.

It’s honestly what helped me see a future outside of corporate long before I had the courage to act on it.
I could picture the life, the flexibility, the work that felt like mine… long before any of it made sense on paper.

And day to day?
I take a thousand actions…client work, kids, emails, workouts (on a good week), school forms, calls, content, travel.
My life is basically a mosaic of Actions.

But reading The Earned Life, by Marshall Goldsmith made something click for me:

1) Aspiration is the big, soul-level direction.
2) Action is everything we do in the moment.
3) Ambition is the bridge — the goals that connect the two.

And if I’m honest?
Ambition is the piece I often skip.

I dream big.
I do a lot.
But I don’t always pause long enough to connect the dots and name the actual goal I’m working toward.

So as I plan for 2026, this is the work I’m doing:
slowing down enough to align my aspirations with the actions I take… and setting the ambitions that tie them together.

Somewhere along the corporate climb, I stopped asking myself the most important question:
“But… is this actually me?”

For years, I shaped myself around performance reviews like they were instructions.

Be more assertive.
Be less emotional.
Be more direct.
Dial yourself down here. Turn yourself up there.

I never paused long enough to ask whether any of it actually aligned with who I am.

Corporate conditioned me to believe that “growth” meant fixing myself...molding myself into whatever the next level required, even if it never felt natural.

Slowly, the quieter voice inside — the one that whispered,
“This isn’t you…”
“This doesn’t feel right…”
“This isn’t your path…”
got drowned out.

Leaving corporate didn’t immediately solve that.
If anything, I had to relearn how to hear myself again.

And the biggest shift was this:

Not every skill you’re told to develop is yours to develop.
Not every “area for improvement” is actually meant for you.
And not every version of success is one you should pursue.

Sometimes the real work is simply returning to the strengths that were yours all along.
