Owned the Direct B2B/ Ecommerce revenue channel for Pressed Juicery, nationally. Ran and operated all drop-shipping programming for key eCommerce Accounts. Ran the B2B site (powered by Shopify) where new and recurring sales transactions took place daily at scale. Personal liaison to all enterprise accounts, ensured a unique and exceptional experience for all partners. Managed eCommerce strategy and execution across two B2C arms: SnackNation and Love With Food (Acquired). Ran and operated the company’s Shopify and Amazon channels. Managed the outputs of the in-house Merchandizing, Marketing, Customer Support and Operation teams as they related to eCommerce. Emphasized the In-Box Experience, drove improvements to the product itself, corrugate, branding, and customer facing messaging. Was liaison to SnackNation’s 3PL warehousing; led a successful transition to two new warehouses. Managed eCommerce partnerships and was the sole eCommerce salesperson for all orders at scale across SnackNation and Love With Food.

Curated the company’s B2B and B2C inventory. Created Bills of Materials, SKUs, Inventory Analyses, and customer facing Curation Materials to highlight important attributes of each unique product. Maintained eCommerce partnerships and the company’s eCommerce website; helped to set the tonality of B2C In Product Collateral. Shepherded the company's insights and brand report processes, which culminate in the delivery of collected data to partner CPG Brands. Assisted with significant Request for Proposals; worked to select and tell the stories of the chosen SKUs to the potential enterprise B2B members.

Utilized Zendesk, Shopify, Recharge, Zuora, Salesforce, Netsuite, Klaviyo, and SurveyMonkey as the sole eCommerce Member Success representative. Hi! I’m the founder of Balloon, a Toronto-based sparkling water brand that I launched in October of 2023.

I’m having a blast figuring out how the CPG space works. Even if the brand flops, I am learning so much along the way.

One day I would love to work on the fizz biz full time, but I have a ways to go before I can give myself a paycheck so I’m a copywriter/content marketer by day 😁.

Okay, back to the career stuff:

Once upon a time in Arlington, Massachusetts, a little girl dreamed of becoming a marketing thought leader.

Hahaha. Can you imagine? No, I wanted to be a bridal shop owner.

Like many people, I stumbled into marketing early in my career. It’s a hard gig for many reasons, but I keep doing it because it’s about people - who they are, what they think, what they need and how to give it to them. 

Marketing is also about words, and as an English major I am really into those.

Freelance Writer

Last week I did pickup prep for my biggest Balloon 🎈 order to date (50 cases 🥳), to be delivered to Shopify's downtown Toronto office.

They very kindly selected Balloon to be in their employee fridges for the month of November; they also invited me to come pour samples on-site for Take Your Kids to Work Day yesterday. 

It was a real pleasure to meet the staff and talk shop; the kids couldn't have been sweeter and the view from the 11th floor was unreal. My deepest gratitude to Shopify for the opportunity and the wonderful support! 

I love helping businesses stock Balloon for their staff or events; if you work in Toronto and want a fridge glowup, I'm more than happy to talk to your office manager 🤗.

A year and some change ago, I lost my tech job.

It was my fifth layoff.

I was surprised, sad, pissed off and really tired.

I had been running Balloon as a side hustle, but it seemed the universe was yelling at me to take it more seriously. 

I resisted for a while. I kept looking at job postings, even had a few interviews. At one point I made it to an intensive take-home assignment round and had to admit that my heart just wasn’t in it.

I wound up bootstrapping the business with freelancing money, and shutting down all my job alerts. 

I’ll admit that building Balloon 🎈with zero CPG experience has felt uncomfortable and at times hair-tearingly stressful, but I can say with full confidence that knowing I can’t be surprised by a layoff feels fucking amazing.

I love a good “shoot your shot” story, so after you read this, please tell me yours!

When I spotted Aaron Spivak by one of the stages at Ecom North, I knew I had to figure out a way to introduce myself, but I felt socially awkward about it.  

(If you’re not familiar, Aaron sold his company Hush Blankets for $48M, has a killer podcast called Founder2Founder and runs The Founders Club. NBD).

I waited for a while as he talked to other conference attendees and was considering a Homer Simpson-esque fade back into the shrubbery when he mentioned his throat was hoarse from speaking at multiple events.

So I whipped out a can of Lychee Balloon and handed it over. He cracked it open on the spot and loved it.

Then he introduced me to Larysa Nakonecznyj, who as it turns out lives in my neighborhood. It was all kind of magical. 

As cumbersome as it can be to wear a backback full of sparkling water cans to events, they function as pretty awesome business cards - and sometimes as the perfect conversation starter 😁.
