Contractor - Project Delivery Manager

British Army

Oversaw the delivery of a complex 14 week programme ensuring the delivery team are empowered to deliver world class training with minimal disruption.

•	Organised and planned resources to ensure adequate delivery of all objectives to over 30 personnel, whilst supporting the other members of the delivery team to hit strict timeframes.

•	Identified and implemented system changes to fault reporting across 4 different departments and external contractors, this minimised duplication of work and sped up the reporting process for Senior Manager.

•	Streamlined processes around monitoring trainee wellbeing, this realised time savings of 60 hours per week across 20 team members.

•	Coached and mentored trainees through a 14-week training course to build and develop key personal and military skills. Communicating with individuals in a very challenging educational environment ensuring that all learning and welfare needs are met, in line with training policy and Ofsted guidelines.

•	Delivered a range of military lessons and assessed trainees to meet key training objectives and continue to enhance the overall experience through basic training, for potential members of the British Army.

Project Delivery Manager

As the Training Manager for 500 personnel within the Defence ICT Sector, I ensured the organisation met its training need; certified by the Ministry of Defence and led the long-term design, planning, management, and delivery of individual and collective training activities across the full spectrum of the organisation. 

•	Directed all Physical Development matters whilst ensuring safe training is conducted in line with policy and provided advice to Senior Management on areas of risks and issues with solutions to mitigate.

•	Managed infrastructure improvement projects, including a £400k project for new multi-use sports flooring with functional training area, £25k budget secured for brand new sports and fitness equipment and Wi-fi installation project to improve user experience as well as the working environment for 5 permanent staff. Accountable for over £2 Million worth of military training kit and equipment.

•	Organised and planned large-scale physical fitness competitions for 400-500 sporting competitors and working with Army Sports to facilitate and run high quality events. Liaised with external organisations to increase income revenue, by offering services to the wider community.

•	Led a team of 12 external Instructors and mentored all future instructors. Planned education sessions to ensure all staff were current and competent. Communicating with Senior Managers to report back on progress.

•	Designed and delivered a 2-week Wellbeing course, where participants were taught about lifestyle habit changes and techniques to stay healthy, all participants reduced their BMI by 10%. Organised several Wellbeing events for the business with over 500 attendees. Liaised with external organisations to present on mindfulness, mental resilience, and alcohol impact.

Project and Delivery Manager / Health & Wellbeing Advisor

Focus on planning and delivering a structured programme of training whilst developing and coaching new instructors that joined our team. Within this role, I had to engage regularly with multiple senior management and provide a high-quality service for all personnel.

•	Presented weekly status reports to senior managers on current health stats and trends, highlighting areas for improvements and giving solutions to this, with this approach, I was able to boost operational readiness by 25% and strengthen relationships between departments.

•	Delivered regular physical training sessions to over 100 personnel whilst evaluating the other lessons delivered by the team and proving coaching and feedback. This improved the delivering of lessons and developed the instructor’s ability and confidence.

•	Co-ordinated the design of monthly training programmes that aligned to training protocols, then presented this to senior management for understanding and buy in. This allowed my team to deliver with confidence and maximise attendance, increasing physical and mental resilience for all attendees.

•	Guided a team of 12 instructors to assist with the planning and delivery of several military competitions to approx. 150 participants with the aim of building physical resilience and instilling competitive spirit, this included creating a plan for the event, delegating tasks, and ensuring deadlines were met resulting in a high standard of event being delivered.

•	Established the strategy for the roll out of the new physical employment standards testing methods for all service personnel, this was the largest change to physical testing that the British Army had seen for 25 years. This included the training and mentoring of 12 instructors, updated all policy documents within the business, and presented this strategy to senior management and all personnel.

Training Project Lead

Responsible for a team of 5 junior engineers with the main effort to ensure maximum up-time for all organisation communications equipment and be ready to deploy the field communications systems at short notice. Within this role, I had to take the lead on several projects to increase operational effectiveness of the organisation. 

•	Facilitated the roll out of 650 remote controlled mechanised target devices to aid in operational training across a 50km2 training area. Delegated tasks to smaller teams to assist with the deployment with short time frames. 
 
•	Maintained the functional state of over £1 Million worth of communication platforms. Organised maintenance and regular checks on all mechanical and electrical components, maximised readiness for deployments. With regular communication across all departments involved, I was able to increase readiness by 50%.

•	Planned and deployed a large project which provided data and voice communications to 50 staff, through military encrypted secure communication systems and Microsoft services, in an operational simulated environment. This led to integration with foreign nationals, increasing team cohesion across NATO forces.

•	Led a team of engineers on a 3 month project, to perform an integral system uplift on communication platforms, ensuring we could communicate with the wider force. This included delegating tasks, providing stakeholder updates, and highlighting areas of risk.

•	Supervised the Service Desk to ensure that problems were dealt with efficiently and that a high level of service availability was provided.

Information Technology Project Coordinator

My role as a Client Manager at Trustmarque was to advise clients on how technology can address business issues with IT solutions. I started off at Trustmarque in the Operations side of the business and quickly transitioned into the Sales department as an Internal Business Executive, I proved my capability in this role and was quickly promoted into a Regional Sales role. 

•	Forged relationships with clients at all levels, from Purchasing to Finance and CXO’s, this allowed me to understand business pain points and position our services to solve these.

•	Managed 30-40 NHS Clients with regular face to face meetings taking place which allowed us to be a trusted advisor as a true partner and ensure we were on hand to assist with any procurement requests and service requests.

•	Provided education and advice on all emerging IT trends from market research and share good practice from experience with other Trusts, this was helped by building relationships with Channel partners and vendors to allow me to negotiate the best value and solution for my client. 

•	Exceeded monthly targets regularly with 120-140% achieved on average, resulting in being awarded 'Rookie Sales of the year' in my first full year of sales.
