I’ll never understand this one

A job post is written in English
The company is remote
The working language is clearly English

Yet some candidates still send CVs in their native language…
while listing “English: fluent” in a language I can’t even read.

I’m not questioning skills or experience
I’m questioning judgment!

If communication is core to the role, the application is the first signal!

Am I missing something here, or is this just poor attention to detail?

➤ DESIGNING BESPOKE ‘FIT FOR PURPOSE’ WEBSITES
A ski company had 2 problematic, out-of-date websites that needed to be consolidated into one effective, secure, error-free, modern, easy-to-update site. I project managed, designed, coded, tested & implemented a bespoke, secure, fast, modern website that was easy for the client to update. I tested the site on around 50 different combinations of operating systems & browsers across desktop/laptop, mobile & tablet devices to ensure the site worked with no errors whatever device a visitor may use to access the site. 

➤ DRIVING SALES & ROI
A start-up cosmetics company needed an online shop set up quickly then developed & expanded easily as more products came on-stream. Effective search engine optimisation was an important factor from the start. They needed help with all technical aspects plus interfacing with Mailchimp for abandoned carts, regular newsletters, etc.. We now handle retail & wholesale customers, optimisation, backups, updates, security, uptime monitoring, to ensure that the site is at its best so they can attract more customers & sell more products.

I was commissioned to research how an online shop could get more visitors. I delivered a report to the client with a series of recommendations grouped by priority & the most important were implemented over the following months. The site visitors steadily increased & 6 months after delivering the report, site visitors had doubled, appearances in Google search results had increased 5x.
