I ended my marriage this year. I also (unexpectedly) added the titles of CFO, COO, and CRO, to my founder/CEO role. 

Both were decisions I made because deep down, I knew there was only one way forward. I had to bet on myself. 

By taking control, my personal and professional life could go down in flames, or I could right the ship - for myself and for the people I care about the most. 

After I filed for divorce, I woke up every day in a panic. I couldn’t breathe because the uncertainty of the road ahead of me was almost too much to bear. So, one day, I took out a marker and wrote on my bathroom mirror: 
“Remember how much progress you have made! Xoxo Gayle”. 

Being reminded daily by my own writing, it is now automatic. I give myself credit for how far I have come, and how much I am learning every day. 

If you are an overachiever, you are probably not giving yourself enough credit for how much progress you’ve made. If you are like me, you think you have to have hit your “goal” before you can take a breath, rest, and appreciate yourself.  

This Thanksgiving, I hope you take some time to remember where you were one year ago and give yourself some love. ❤️

🎄 It’s the most wonderful time of the year (that’s what the classic holiday song tells us anyway!) – how do you make it wonderful?

If you’re like me, you attempt every year to get ahead of everything so you can actually enjoy this time, but then find yourself panic shopping on Amazon two days before Christmas because you don’t know if you got enough presents, and did each kid get the same amount? 

Mainly, this happens to me because I never factor in that work does not slow down just because the holidays are approaching - for most of us it is the busiest time of year.

This year, I am attempting (check with me on Jan 2 to see how successful I was) to change this manic December experience.

Here are my ideas to lighten the load, and find some actual holiday cheer. Please share yours!

✨ Prioritize the non-negotiables – What are the things that I want to do to celebrate - schedule them and forget the rest.

✨ Outsource - Get the groceries delivered, send out the laundry, pay someone to wrap your gifts - whatever you need to have done but don’t find joy in, outsource it this month. 
 
 ✨ Give yourself grace – Ever since I adopted this phrase and really practiced it, my life changed for the better. Not everything will be perfect. No one will remember the things you didn’t get to, they remember how they felt. Focus on that and forget the rest.

I am a MAJOR work in progress on this one, how do you all enjoy the holiday season without the meltdowns. I need some advice!

💡Financial individuality in a partnership isn’t just smart—it’s essential.

During a conversation with Vicki Hall, we talked about how many couples put all their finances under one name or joint account. On the surface, it may seem easier, but it can create real risks:

➡️ One person carries all the responsibility.

➡️ Credit history may only reflect one partner.

➡️ If circumstances change, you could lose financial footing.

The takeaway? Even when you share your life with someone, maintaining your own financial independence matters. It’s not about mistrust—it’s about protecting yourself, planning ahead, and having the freedom to make choices confidently.

🌟 Leadership win of 2025 so far? Letting go of being the "fixer."

For years, my instinct was to jump in, solve the issue, move things along, and keep the ship steady. But this year, I flipped the script:

Instead of rescuing the moment, I shifted to empowering the moment.

Letting others take the lead—even if it meant things moved slower or looked different from how I’d do it—led to:
 ✨ Better ideas from fresh perspectives
 ✨ A team that feels trusted (and acts like it)
 ✨ Unexpected growth in areas I didn’t even see coming

I’m learning that the most valuable thing a leader can give is space to fail, to thrive, and to surprise you.

✨ Magic happens when marketing and sales actually talk to each other. After all, it’s not a nice-to-have; it’s a strategy.

Here’s how to make it happen.

1️⃣ Start with a shared language. Sit down and define what counts as a lead, a qualified opportunity, and a closed deal. Everyone should be speaking the same language and have clarity on shared metrics.

2️⃣ Regular alignment sessions. Weekly (or bi-weekly) check-ins give both teams a chance to share insights, wins, and roadblocks so they can work together to adjust their efforts.

3️⃣ Collaborate on content and messaging. Marketing should understand what resonates with prospects in real sales conversations, and sales should trust marketing to deliver the right tools at the right time.

4️⃣ Measure together. Look at pipeline metrics and results as one team. Celebrate wins and adjust strategies as a unified group.

When marketing and sales align this way:
🚀 Pipeline moves faster
🚀 Conversations with prospects are smarter
🚀 Campaigns actually drive measurable results
