Addressed any discrepancies to maintain compliance and avoid potential legal issues.

Administrative Aide

College of Arts & Media - handling sensitive projects for the Dean, managing the Dean’s calendar, prioritizing and scheduling appointments, and overseeing communications to ease the Dean’s routine interactions. Key tasks include attending and recording meeting minutes, aiding in the development and implementation of departmental programs, and serving as a resource for policy and procedure interpretation for staff. Also acts as the office manager, ensuring efficient workflow and providing guidance. Responsibilities extend to assisting the Dean with research, report preparation, and personnel matters, often requiring confidentiality. Additional duties involve liaising with campus offices, processing faculty and staff paperwork, maintaining filing systems, scheduling space, coordinating promotion and tenure processes, and managing sabbatical applications.  Arranged travel and lodging for the Dean, organizing special events, and acting as a liaison with Plant and Service Operations for building maintenance. Manages several College electronic calendars, serves as listserv administrator, and responds to general email inquiries. Responsibilities also involve making purchases for the Dean’s office, preparing correspondence and applications for foreign nationals, and performing additional duties as assigned by the Dean. Independent decision-making and judgment are essential, particularly for event planning and project management. Strong communication, decision-making, and organizational skills are required to manage significant responsibilities and deadlines effectively.

Dean's Assisant/Office Manager

Counseling, Quantitative Methods, and Special Educations Office Management - Hiring, firing, and supervising student workers, organizing their schedules, and preparing time transmittals for Payroll are key responsibilities. Tasks include answering phones, managing Banner applications, updating class schedules, processing student overrides, and overseeing academic planning, such as course schedules and textbook orders. Acting as a liaison between department coordinators and external units, the employee administers University policies and handles the creation and adjustment of course schedules. Additional duties involve attending academic meetings, drafting and preparing various documents, and assisting with statistical and student information. Key tasks also include managing confidential records, overseeing document production, supervising departmental document destruction, and maintaining a graduate student database. Accessed and use multiple systems for student and departmental information, manage student admissions processes, administer exams, and handle correspondence regarding exam results. Responsibilities include maintaining departmental web pages, updating displays, and ensuring efficient management of all academic and operational tasks.
