I lead the CP Digital business that supports clients across their Salesforce, NetSuite, Analytics & Cybersecurity needs. Responsibilities include all M&A & growth, in line with our vision alongside Lee Equity Partners. 

I also lead market activity for CP in the Venture Capital ecosystem. 

Our specialist team works with Founders, CFOs and Boards of early stage, scale-up and high growth businesses, navigating challenges spanning accounting, finance, tax, audit, technology, and deal support. 

We are highly active in the scale-up ecosystem and have worked as the accounting partner for leading organisations and communities whilst also building our own community platforms, TechCFO and VentureCEO.

Having started my career at PwC, I went to on to establish and build a successful early stage focussed firm, Acclivity Advisors (which was acquired by Cooper Parry in Jan’23).

Along the way, I wrote the best selling book 'The Finance Playbook for Entrepreneurs', so that entrepreneurs of ALL backgrounds could benefit from the very best teachings.  

My unique experiences and skills have afforded me a number of Board positions across industries within public & private sectors. 

At present, these include:

Blink and you’ll have missed it, but rumour has it we’ve entered 2026. 

I won’t keep banging on for much longer but last year was special and laid some really solid foundations for The Modern Firm™, and I  cannot wait to build on those this year 🚀

We’ve got project work kicking off all over the place from this week and that requires A game project management.

Working the weekend before the masses return to the office and nailing those project management boards felt like an underrated life hack but it’s nice to have firmly arrived at the first ‘proper’ day back in the office after the Christmas break.

I was starting to get quite triggered by the barrage of generic out of offices on Friday 😅

As well as all things TMF this is l going to be a really special year for Digital Accountants Club and we’ve got some very exciting stuff planned. We’re due to thrash all of out and more down in Winchester on Thursday 👌🏽

I’m then up to Manchester Friday to kick off what I know will be one the most transformative investments I make in this business this year and beyond - watch this space 😎

May as well have swan back from Winchester last night 🫠

There is absolutely nothing that grinds my gears more than a 20 tonne articulated lorry bombing it down the fast lane on a dual carriageway and jet washing your car at high speeds in the process 💦 

Glad that’s off my chest and we are all in agreement. 

A really exciting and enjoyable afternoon as always with Jeri Williams FCA and Hilary Lewis 💻♣️ on all things Digital Accountants Club yesterday so it did make it all worthwhile. 

Some truly game changing plans in the works for this year including a very special offer in February that everyone will benefit from 😎 

I’m currently supposed to be on a train up to Manchester although storm whatever her name is a successfully railroaded that 🙃

I could start ranting about the national rail infrastructure in this country but that feels like too much moaning for one post so I think I will just leave this there….

Is it February yet?

I was speaking to a friend over the Christmas break who told me he quite enjoyed my LinkedIn content as it felt raw and authentic.

Glad at least one person does 😂

He asked what my strategy actually was when posting.
 
But I said I honestly do not have a strategy on this platform.

I mean is that a strategy 👀? 

Far too many people care far too much about what others think in life - let alone when working out what to post online. 

My general view is save for the overtly offensive / illegal - who really cares 🤷🏼‍♂️

We’re all so wrapped up in our own worlds I can guarantee that most people won’t give two hoots about what you have to say.

Man that just cut deep.

Anyway, just post it. What’s the worst that will happen.

Naturally posting anything even remotely relative to your business and god forbid with a sales angle will get about as much reach as t-rex 🦖 but forever the optimist, here’s the latest version of our new client look book that at least one person might find interesting 😎

Anyway teams TMF and XBert don’t like the thought of all our lovey accounting firm friends slaving away over tax returns all month and so we want to take you all out for lunch in February to celebrate the end of tax season 😎

Throwback to the last TMF | XBert lunch we had at Accountex 2025.  Party hats optional this time round.

I might be a bit biased, but I think what we do is pretty cool.

Accounting firms are screaming out for more practical, tangible and scalable support to help streamline and modernise their firms, and I know we carry both the experience and skill sets to bring those dreams to life ✅ 

I’ve spoken with well over 80 practices since I launched this business and have had the privilege of calling many of those clients since.

It’s felt non stop at times, but that pipeline only represents 0.2% of the entire addressable market in the UK if we apply some conservative logic over the top, and to me that demonstrates just how much more opportunity there is to go after - and in turn how many more firms we can still support. 

I had a lovely catch up with Michaela Randall yesterday and we wrapped by reflecting on what our plans for our businesses looked like as we head into 2026.

I guess my answer to that remains we keep doing more of the same, we close more deals, we hire a bigger team, and we keep delivering as much value and support along the way as we can into this profession.

It’s all very exciting, but I genuinely believe we’re only just getting started 🚀

It is January after all - and no one really likes a January

I used to spend every other Saturday as a teenager stood behind this very goal watching the mighty Cheltenham Town.

I then usually had the privilege of spending the remaining Saturdays in the month driving up and down the country watching Cheltenham lose against most of the other lower league clubs across the country 🙃

As time went on the practicalities of giving up most weekends to watch football fizzled out, and I guess we could say I had to grow up 😂

Life was definitely simpler back then, although if I reflect those 4am starts for coach trips up to places like Carlisle has definitely helped battle harden me for the miles I choose to put in on the road these days 🚗

A predictably flat result on Saturday against Leicester but nostalgia x 10 as I stood packed in a freezing cold shed with thousands of other fans shouting and screaming over a game of football.

It’s been a while since I woke up on a Monday morning with a sore throat after throwing insults at an away goal keeper, and I can’t say I’ve missed that bit 😅

Let’s hope we’re out the other side of the weather this week, I could do with revisiting some of that time on the road 🙏🏼
