Open Robotics

At Open Robotics, I was the "ROS Boss" of the Humble (LTS) release of ROS 2. This involved extensive collaboration with various stakeholders and the development of new infrastructure to streamline the release process.

To address a need in the testing process, I designed and implemented a Test Case Manager tool in Typescript. This tool automates the creation of test cases for different platform permutations and has been employed in several key releases, including ROS 2 Humble, ROS 2 Iron, and Gazebo Garden.

In addition to these responsibilities, I worked on various other projects that required a wide range of technical skills. These included debugging multithreaded executor issues, designing C++ client library features for Nvidia, contributing to NASA's VIPER mission, and integrating different UAV frameworks under a common API.

Robohub

As the Podcast Director at Robohub, I managed an international team and conducted over 100 interviews with key figures in the robotics field. The variety of our interviewees, from academics to industry leaders, allowed us to present a comprehensive view of the sector.

I led the team in expanding our podcast's monthly listenership from 2k to 120k and secured $20k in academic sponsorships. This growth and financial support helped to sustain our operations and extend our reach.

During my tenure, we produced and released 160 podcast episodes. This consistent output, combined with our increased listenership and financial support, illustrates my focus on steady growth and commitment to sharing knowledge in the robotics community.

IP Camera/CarDVR/UAV design and development based Hisilicon and Qualcomm chips. I am responsible for the system architecture design, the interface between software and hardware, and fix the key issues. Now already finished the resolution for Camera/CarDVR/UAV system. It includes server side(Linux/Android), PC client, Android/ iOS phone client，the relative technology includes driver development (Flash，WiFi，IRcut etc), AV codec(H264、H265), network communication, multi process and multi thread communication, CPU load balance, easy to expand the system architecture design, etc.

IP Camera/CarDVR/UAV

The main work is decoding DTMB subtitle, UI control, and fix all the audio bugs, confirm audio quality in TV. I am responsible for subtitle architecture design, AQ core module design and coding, review other modules. The detail information is as follows.（I）It related to hardware register control, software driver, software middleware, UI, due to the complex architecture of smart TV system, a short period of time to master and add the design of new features, the challenge is very large.(II) There are many features, such as filter design, balance performance and accuracy and other difficult issues.（III）AQ sound quality subjective judgment, based power curve on speaker, consider audio listening effect, through various combinations of adjust the audio settings, pass Philips quality certification .（IV）Partners include the company in Japan, Taiwan, Xiamen and Beijing, effective communication skills greatly promoted the project smoothly. All the functions of the project have been applied to a variety of smart TV production products for global market.

DTMB Subtitle and audio post processing development in Smart TV

Vorbis/Flac/MS10 SBR/MS10 HE-AAC/ALAC/Silk/RealAudio audio codec design, development and verification. The codec are used in BD and DTV products, I am responsible for product specification definition, codec architecture design, core module development and automatic test environment build. The detail information is as follows.（I）Deeply analyze and optimize the algorithm of channel conversion, LPC, Golomb-Rice.（II）Performance optimization in a short time, such as Hash, FIR, FFT/IFFT, memory, Cache, compile method, instruction etc.(III) According to the characteristics of the codec, design the interface with the external module in order to guarantee the normal operation and abnormal handling of the audio and video synchronization.（IV）Build automation unit testing environment, integrated test environment, auto test tools. C/C++/BAT/Perl is used in the project.
