1 years ago, I posted about discipline on LinkedIn.

Then I woke up at 12 pm and have a shitty schedule.

I felt like a complete fraud.

That uncomfortable feeling changed everything.

Building a personal brand didn't just grow my business, it forced me to become the person I was pretending to be online.

What actually happened behind the scenes?

The accountability i didn't ask for

When you post about your values publicly, you can't hide from them anymore. I couldn't write about consistency while skipping being consistent on my routine. I couldn't talk about discipline while procrastinating on client work.

The network that built itself

One morning, I woke up to a DM from someone I'd never met. They wanted to introduce me to a potential client because my content reminded them of someone perfect for the project.

My posts were networking for me while I slept. No coffee meetings. No awkward small talk. Just value, shared consistently.

The filter i didn't know i needed

As my message got clearer, something unexpected happened: the wrong people stopped reaching out.

Everyone told me that building a personal brand would bring opportunities and income.

They were right. But what they didn't mention was:

Your personal brand doesn't just change what you do. It changes who you are.

You become more disciplined because you can't fake it.
You become more focused because your message demands clarity.
You become more valuable because growth is no longer optional.

The followers and opportunities are just by products.

The real benefit is becoming someone you're actually proud to be.

P.S. What's one way your personal brand has changed you?

One of my client wondered if i use engagement pods that increased reach by 3x.

But i never did, i always engaged with a intention to actually build real connections.

Comment pods are still trending as a “growth hack” on LinkedIn. 

Random comments to boost visibility and manipulate the algorithm.

You need to know:

LinkedIn’s algorithm is designed to reward authentic engagement. When you join a pod, you are diluting your credibility.

It always lead to:

→ Fake engagement metrics
→ Irrelevant conversations
→ An audience that doesn’t truly care about your content

Instead, focus on a proven alternative:

→ Curate your network intentionally.
→ Identify 5–10 creators whose work you genuinely respect, not random accounts but peers who align with your values.
→ Engage with depth, not volume.
→ Show up in their comments daily. Add perspective, ask thoughtful questions, and share real insights.
→ Build reciprocal relationships.

Authentic engagement leads to organic visibility.

When you invest in real conversations, your reach grows with the right people.

Forget shortcuts.

Posting on LinkedIn feels so cringe.

I have heard this from a lot of founders.

They say Linkedin has changed, yes it does but in a good way.

Two years ago, sharing feelings or personal stories felt weird.

Today, it’s the opposite. Unfiltered, real stories are what make founders stand out and connect with their audience.

It has been tried and tested:

Personal content gets 3x more engagement than corporate posts.

While you are complaining about Linkedin feed full of selfies and life updates smart founders are actually leveraging it to educate, inspire, and build trust.

Because humans buy from humans.

I watched founders with a brand valuation of " crores" leveraging Linkedin's post using his real life story that actually contain real life lessons.

Nobody wants to read boring perfect advice anymore. They want to hear your real life stories.

But sharing personal stories without strategy is a disaster.

- Be vulnerable enough to build trust.
- Be personal enough to connect.
- Be professional enough to convert.

Remember: Personal stories should be used to be more relatable and connect to the audience instead of unnecessary bragging.

I used to think hustling will bring me business instead it brought me a bad health.

→ A proper breakfast with whole foods
→ 5 minutes of mindful reading

Giving myself a break into moving my body after every task.

The results weren't immediate, but they were undeniable.

Later, I realized that sustainable freelancing is built on systems that protect your health while you grow your business.

We choose freelancing for freedom, then trap ourselves in patterns that steal our vitality.

We think hustling will bring us success, but burnout brings nothing but regret.

Your morning routine isn't a luxury or a productivity hack. It's the foundation of a business that doesn't cost you your health.

If you're sitting for most of your day, ask yourself: Is your business serving your life, or are you sacrificing your life to build a business?
