I have directed three independent cancer institutes, collectively representing 17 hospitals and 12 cancer centers.  I am a hematologist and medical oncologist who has been the institutional principal investigator on nearly 100 clinical trials involving breast cancer, myeloma, prostate cancer, lung cancer, melanoma, ovarian cancer, head and neck cancer, myelodysplastic syndrome, CLL, DLBCL, esophageal cancer, etc.  I was on three papers published in The New England Journal of Medicine (prostate cancer, chronic neutrophilic leukemia, lung cancer) and two in Lancet (Shingles vaccine and head and neck cancer).  I am board certified in hematology, medical oncology, internal medicine, and artificial intelligence in medicine.

I resisted the trend towards subspecialization in my career as I feel ideation often happens at the level of the forest, not the trees.  Many of the greatest future innovations will be at the interface of various disciplines. 

My area of clinical expertise is precision medicine, and my ability to treat patients in all hematology/medical oncology disciplines uniquely positions me to sequence molecular-based therapies in the context of conventional therapy and clinical trials.

I am the CEO and Founder of three companies:  CancerClarity, CancerLight, and Revolution Cancer Medical Care PLLC.  We are early in our development as we hope to disrupt the clinical trial, patient education, and clinical care forums.  Aside from building my two companies, I am a consulting medical director for 2 phase 1 Xbiotech clinical trials (pancreatic cancer), consult for numerous other pharmaceutical companies, and see patients full-time in the clinic as a hematologist/medical oncologist.  I recently turned down several high-visibility positions to pursue my vision.

My singular focus is to help as many people as I can in the shortest time frame possible.

🩺 ADVOCATE:

With decades of experience as a physician, in 2021 I stepped away from direct patient care to expand my impact through myMDadvocate, a virtual consultation and advocacy platform that serves as a bridge between patients and the often-complex healthcare system. As a physician consultant, healthcare navigator, and medical advocate, I help people with everything from referral advocacy and chronic condition management, to aging gracefully and supporting caregivers through their most challenging moments.

🔎 GUIDE:

My passion for helping women through life transitions led to the creation of MenopauseMenu, a comprehensive online resource offering evidence-based information and holistic support for peri/menopause and beyond. I love to wrangle three active blogs with timely posts, helpful videos & podcasts, and tasty recipes.

📚 AUTHOR:

These experiences collectively formed the foundation for my 2023 book, “The Menopause Menu”—an all-in-one giftbook, medical guide, and recipe book that transforms medical complexity into accessible wisdom. 

✍️ WRITER:

I write about the intersection of medicine and art, science and humanity, and with individual stories and universal truths. I contribute to online and print news formats with excerpts, interviews, essays and book chapters.

🎙️ HOST:

My newest adventure is Voices With Vigor, a live, virtual talk show. Inspired by great conversationalists like Terry Gross of Fresh Air and the beloved Magliozzi brothers of Car Talk, this free series brings together extraordinary voices for intimate, unscripted conversations. Each month, I welcome guests from diverse backgrounds who share common threads of curiosity, kindness, dedication, and resilience.

🧭 COMPASS: 

I love to support colleagues, advising and coaching physicians who are considering different roles. I help physicians seeking advice about shifting to a different practice style including concierge, DSC/DPC and telemedicine-based business models.
 
🔊 SPEAKER: 

I spoke virtually at the Interfaith Center for Corporate Responsibility 2024 NYC Conference, and in-person at the STAT News 2024 Summit in Boston. I have given lectures for Seattle-based nonprofit Cancer Lifeline, taught an online module for UCSF-based medical education in California, gave a talk for the Long Beach Public Library of NY, and presented at a national menopause conference in 2025. I’ve been interviewed on numerous national and international podcasts.
